This was during the Diwali week, where our Indian community in Muscat held celebrations for the festival. It was a mini fair event, with some Indian performances as well. Everything was so colorful and bright. There were lot of stalls which were selling all Indian traditional things and somewhere it gave a sense of bringing a part of home in this place and feel like home.

At the entrance there was this swing kept as a photo prop. We call this as Jhula in our Indian way. It was decorated with artificial flowers and lights. There was a long queue for taking pictures, I too wanted to so I waited in the line, it was quick.

This is a Rangoli made with colored powder. A Rangoli is made in almost every Indian house during festival times.

One of my friend also had her stall selling her handmade items. She does quilling work and makes beautiful decorative boxes and envelopes and she also does artificial candle decorating. She is a very talented lady.

Then there are some other Indian decorative things on sale

Then there were loads of activities for children. A few adults also gave dance and singing performances. One thing that missed in this event was the Indian food. There was everything except for food, not sure why. Possible they did not get the approvals for having food stalls. Overall it was a very entertaining evening.

Thank you for visiting my blog. ๐Ÿ‘ผ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ผ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒบ๐ŸŒธ
