So much of confusion and chaos with Children

I have been following Robby Starbuck and his wife Linda Starbuck for a while on Insta. Both of them are public figures, while Robby was a producer / director in the past, he has now got into politics and fights for public freedom. Public freedom is a very big word, so to narrow it down he focuses more on Family security. Some of the content he puts up on his page is very shocking, like addressing the Transgender issue and the confusion and chaos that is being created for younger children in terms of addressing their own gender identity.

Interactions of Drag queens with children are a major concern that is coming up in the west. I have seen a couple of his videos where drag queens are talking to children. It all looks fun to them. Not only is the west but also in the East there concerns that parents are facing. Here in the East still we are at baby steps, but the time is not far when this will spread here as well. These days majority of movies on OTT platforms have this twist of TGs. Raising awareness and educating people is good but by putting it so strongly out there on every forum what are they trying to prove. They are only confusing the child about their identity. Some gross things are being shown through these channels of entertainment. As a society where are we leading to?

I have no issues with any identity. Every single person on this planet deserves to exist with equal respect then be it whatever gender or religion or faith that they are following. But bringing this to small children at a very young age is definitely not the right thing. It is confusing them more and more. Last week I had a mother come to me with her 11 year old daughter and she was complaining to me that her daughter behaves very irrational at times. When she gets bored of her clothes she just cuts them and wear them. Isn't this all the social media influence. The little girl is very fond of music and keeps watching videos on YouTube. She sees all the fashion there and tries to copy. These days’ torn clothes are in extreme fashion and these little children are influenced by all of these crazy things. This is just a little part of it. It is scary how things are going with children.

Children are being repeatedly given these messages in school about how parents cannot control them; hit them and all of that. Again here, it is becoming a concern for the parents. Parents do not get strict for pleasure purpose. They need to teach their children discipline in life, they cannot agree to everything that the child demands and hence they have to be strict with them when required. But children very easily get their way by threatening their parents that they will complain to the police. A parent knows best what is good for their child and what is not. There are very few exceptions where a parent’s behavior's is not responsible towards their child. But for those reasons this kind of education should not be given to all the children and there has to be a way of explaining.

My friend's younger daughter is obese, her mother tries to explain her it is not good for her. In return she tells her mother that she is body shaming her and she does not like it. The mother is concerned about her health, but the little girl is so heavily influenced by these body shaming messages that she feels that her obesity is justified.

I am strongly against all those people who do not put up responsibly on social media. They would say that it is the parents responsibility to restrict their children, and with such ideas they wash off their hands of not behaving morally and socially responsible. It is not possible to control children at every step, they have peer influences and even if the parents restrict they would get these messages from outside. Too much of parent's restriction is also going to impact their relationship.

With all of these influences children are left confused and it is difficult for them to differentiate what is right, what is wrong, what is good for them and what is not. I believe that parenting has become the most difficult job of today's time.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

This a very scary scenario working in mental health. I feel we are creating a role-identification crisis for our kids. Due to such an authoritarian childhood and schooling system, kids can't explore and develop their relationship with nature (hugely important). Secondly, they don't have the opportunity to develop social interactions and develop their character due to media pressures and forced conformity to social pressures. Add in some gentle body shaming jargon and you disguise your problem as something else and have a massively divided community, easy to control and get self-policing. We are entering very worrying times 🙏🏽

You bet, they are so much disconnected from the nature. If you take them out in nature they easily get bored, never can see the beauty in it and get hooked on to their gadgets. It is a seriously worrying time, where probably we will end up with two extreme sides and the ones who will be close to nature and real life I am sure the numbers are going to be much lesser.

I work as an occupational therapist in mental health, and the results from doing my session in nature are astounding. After two years of being room-based, I have clients engaging in a few months by running my sessions in nature. Yet this therapy is not promoted, basically because it's not profitable. This makes me feel ashamed of my involvement in the service, it's so sad. I plan to go it alone once I can work out a way around the red tape 🙏🏽 🌱

The parenting issue has always been difficult because we can't keep them in a bubble even if we want to.
I see how my oldest son has his interests in different things than the rest, but his classmates lead him to consume information of this type through whatsapp messages, the same one they sent him to open in his high school so that teachers can communicate with them or send them extra assignments.
Here in Argentina, public TV is full of openly homosexual presenters, actors and singers, and although for them it is something normal, their behaviors are patterns of behavior that can be learned by young viewers.
My children watch Youtube, and it is also a double-edged sword, because you have to be watching what they consume and restrict, but that leads them to activate their curiosity. In short, it is a day-to-day battle that I believe we can only fight with a lot of communication with them.

That's a sad state for the younger generation and specially when it is displayed publicly they can so easily get hooked on to it. It is also very difficult to have a hold on them as you say, so many external influences, how many will you control :-(
