Eid Holidays and Celebrations
The month-long Ramadan gets over today and for people doing the Ramadan fasting life gets back to normal. People will be celebrating Eid today with family and friends. I feel that this is a very tough period for all those following Ramadan. Not eating is still fine, but not having water is a bit difficult and I always have sympathy for people working outdoors and in service industry like construction laborers, people at the airport job, sales job, basically all outdoor jobs.
In the Middle East there are special arrangements made for work timings and for labor jobs where the afternoon time there is a break. Work hours are reduced, which makes it easy. But in other Countries, these special arrangements are not made and I always feel for them it must be so difficult. Back in India I was not even sensitive about these matters and it was just so normal, but after staying in Middle East for all these years I have a different way of looking at these things.
The 30 days of Ramadan is just not about praying and fasting. It teaches one many lessons of life. It teaches self-discipline, self-control, bringing awareness, being mindful. It's a soul detox. Almost all religions have these special periods like Lent and Paryushana is also there in other cultures. I believe that all of these traditions were formed with a reason. These are times of spiritual reflection and spiritual growth. They abstain us from doing wrong things and remind us of the good path of good thoughts, good words and good deeds that one has to follow. We learn, we grow and we evolve with these times.
In my culture we do not have fasting practices, but one month in a year we have a practice of giving up meat. Nowadays there is a lot of debate on this as some people consider meat as the healthiest food which gives protein to the body and I too believe that but temporarily cutting it out from diet and maintaining and alternative healthy diet does help with a good detox. But honestly in my culture people find it very difficult to give up meat and hence not many people follow it, and some do with self-benefitting customizations.
Today is the day of celebrations and we also have a mini vacation of 5 days. We took the opportunity to travel to a destination which is a 4-hour drive from the city and it's a beach side resort where turtle watching is famous. The beach is absolutely stunning in this place. I will share the story of my trip later. We plan to stay for 2 nights in this place and then head back home. All the resorts in the city are full, we had booked a month in advance to avoid any disappointments as we are also in a big group. During these holidays last-minute planning does not work as everyone wants to get out, hence it's better to plan in advance.
So here's wishing everyone a very Happy Eid and blessed times ahead filled with Love and Joy.

Happy eid to you sister.
Eid Mubarak to you and your family
The hot weather made it a bit hard for people down here but the lessons imparted helped in enduring the heat. I think it's also a physical and spiritual detox too, sort of starting with a clean slate.
Happy Eid to you too. Wish you the same and more :)
It is a great time of learning humility.
Thank you and wish you the same 💖
Yes, indeed. You're most welcome :)
