Celebrating my 28th Anniversary

On 30th November, I celebrated my 28th wedding anniversary. It's been a long journey in this relationship of marriage and when I look back at it I have so much to cherish on. Truly it has been the best thing that has happened to me in life, meeting my life partner and spending this life time with him. I could have not asked for anything better than having him besides me all my life.

Which does not mean we have not had our ups and downs, the first 10 years of marriage were a roller coaster ride, times where we even thought we could not stand each other any longer and yet there was something that kept us going. It was just nor our Son that kept us together in those times, but it was something more and that was love. We would fight like cats and dogs but could never think of being without each other. We would want to come back to each other no matter however bad the situation was.

Marriage is not a very easy relationship but it is yet the most wonderful one. So much we learn in this relationship, we learn to live for another person, sacrifice for them, share our joys and sorrows with our partner. One thing I strongly believe in this institution is that never take each other for granted even as husband and wife as an individual we have our limits and that should be respected by each other. In this I have been lucky because my hubby has the same thought and we give each other our space and when we do things for each other, we always feel grateful and never take it for granted that it has to be done.

There is so much that goes in this relationship besides Love, there has to be respect for each other, trust, faith in each other, honesty towards each other. In my culture when 2 people get married it is like marriage of 2 families and with the couple there are so many attachments of these family members which also has to be maintained. Both of us did struggle a lot in this as well, because from both sides we had demanding in-laws and for the first few years we had a major challenge dealing with them. Most of our relationship issues came from them.

At the end of it, we are glad that we never gave up on each other. He is a very kind person, very gentle and always keeps encouraging me in life. He motivates me to perform better in anything that I do. He is like my pillar of strength. Without him I would give up very easily in life, but he never allows me to give up.

Last week we went to the resort, the main reason was also to celebrate our anniversary, it was a bit early but then there was holidays that time and we got a good deal. On 30th it was a working day for both of us, so after finishing work we went out for dinner and had our celebrations. This day is always very special for me.

We did not want a cake, so this was a small sweet that we settled down for :-) The restaurant guy did a good job, it was a small Mousse cake

I can only say that he is a blessing and a God sent Angel in my life.

Congratulations on your 28th wedding anniversary! Marriage is indeed a rollercoaster ride but with a strong foundation, it can stand the test of time. I think love and respect are important pillars in any relationship, without it, the ship will not survive a storm.

my dear!! CONGRATULATIONS!! 28 years is soso long! It's wonderful to live all your life with one man who has become not just a husband, but much much more for these years...So many events were met together with him. So much happiness, and so many hard events, but you're still together, you've your wonderful Yohan, a result of your love. And without any doubt such people are not occasional in our lives, and he is your angel for sure, and you are HIS one as well. I am sure I will read about your golden wedding (50 years) too:)) BE HAPPY!!
