Today I want to show you an amigurumi that I was asked to make. The truth is that I'm very excited, since it's my first order outside my friends, it's a big step for me!

I decided to publish my creations on Facebook, and shortly after I got a message asking me if I could make a character named Lion, who coincidentally is a Lion from the animated series Steven Universe. I was very excited, not only because it was my first order, but also because I love that series, so I quickly accepted the request, but I forgot the small detail that I am just starting in the world of amigurumis and I still depend on tutorials. And to my surprise, when I went looking for a tutorial I didn't find any.

But I managed to figure it out and realized that the pose I had in the reference the girl sent me resembled a typical cat pose. I decided to try my luck with tutorials for making kittens and found one that might work for me. The tutorial was in Portuguese and, although I am learning Portuguese, I still can't find the crochet lesson on Duolingo, but I was still able to understand it all pretty well.

The hind legs have a very complex shape, so it was quite difficult for me and I had to unknit and reknit several times until I liked the result. On the other hand, the tail was also something new for me and although it hurt my fingers afterwards, it wasn't that difficult and I used a little piece of wire to shape it. Being a tutorial to make a cat, I had to change the ears for round ones, but I knew how to do it, since they are the same ears I use to make the bears.

For the mane, the truth is that I had no idea how to do it, so I also had to look for a tutorial and it turned out to be easier than I thought, and although it may seem a tedious process, the truth is that I enjoyed them quite a lot. I think it was because, as I said before, I usually enjoy more the steps in which you can notice much more the progress, see how little by little it is taking shape. And well, also watching the new season of “The Umbrella Academy” while I was doing it helped.

Despite all the difficulties, I really enjoyed making this amigurumi; it felt great to see that I managed to make something so nice and also about something I like (even if it's not for me). I loved the result and I definitely wanted to have one for myself. Maybe I will do it later. Thanks for reading and giving me some of your time.
