Fun activity with kid || earthen lamp colour for diwali festival

Hello friends !

Diwali is just around the corner and we all are busy in preparation. This is our biggest festival and there are many things to do.

Kids also have a 15 day vacation during Diwali...and my kid vacation started from yesterday. On Friday they celebrate diwali at school where they learn to diya making, rangoli making and light firecrackers too.

Here is the diya ( earthen lamp) which they made at school :

This diya is not made by clay. In their school they make diyas with innovative way. They made samidh diya which is made by havan samagri, cow dung powder , oil and ganga jal.

And with all students they made lots of diya and give one each diya to students.

Now it's my turn to do something with my kid. So we decided to color that diya.

I gave my kid some water colors I'll and asked him to choose his favorite 2 colors. He choose blue and orange color which is all time favorites of him :⁠,⁠-⁠)

And we start to color the diya. First we do orange color as a base.

Than we color final blue color and decorate it with organe and white color.

And here is the final result :

Soon my kid going to turn 3 and now he is at that age when he has started understanding everything....Now he has curiosity to know everything...and this is the best time to introduce all rituals and festival value to him. He enjoyed so much this activity and heard all about the festival rituals very nicely. I feel also so happy after spending time with him.
