The Chillout Session 2001
Hello Hive Music Lovers!,
Welcome to another #threetunetuesday created originally by @ablaze.
I hope you are having a great start to the week. This week I have been sorting through my CD collection and came across the Chillout Session 2003 CD by The Ministry of Sound. Ironically, the story behind this CD is that most of my CD collection was stolen in a burgalary in 2002 and I lost a CD that had some tunes that helped me get through a difficult period in my life.
This CD isn't it! haha But, I bought it because it was the same franchise as the one that was and thought maybe I might enjoy it too. I do like a couple of tracks, but mostly I'm not so keen on it. However, today I will share some tunes from the actual album The Chillout Session 2001 which is much better and has some tunes that I enjoyed and helped me chillout whilst going through a lot of emotional pain.
The first tune is actually the first track on the album by Badly Drawn Boy, The Shining. Somehow the melody and lyrics helped when going through some emotional pain at the time.
I think this album was released at the epoch of the best chillout music at the time. Lots of original stuff and great for those more chilled out days. Some of the tunes could be abit depressive I think, so are not for all moods.
Badly Drawn Boy - The Shining
On the 2003 album, I quite like the first two tracks, Seal and Moby are pretty much awesome artists and were at the top of their game back then. Anyhow, back to 2001! Many of the tracks might not be so well known now.
The next track is by Thievery Corporation and is a classic chillout tune and perfect to drift away to. Something clean and crisp with the sound and non-disturbing.
Thievery Corporation - Só Com Você
The album has some of the big tunes that you may expect like Energy 52 and William Orbit. Moby again features on this album, but it is not so chillout as the great tune on the 2003 album In This World. The live Glastonbury performance looks amazing.
I'm really under two minds what to do with this 2003 album, on the one hand, do we still need CDs with MP3s and streaming services now? If the album doesn't have some deep emotional attachment?
The next tune is a great chillout tune from the 2001 album and I love having it on whilst trying to chill.
Amber - Sexual (Afterlife Chillout Remix)
The final bonus track for today is the little known track, which might seem abit hectic at first for a chillout tune. However, it can be relaxing once you get into it.
That wraps up my #ttt for this week. I hope you are having a great musical Tuesday. Whats your favorite chillout tune from any album? and what are you listening to this week?
For those unfamiliar with TTT or Three Tune Tuesday.... to quote @ablaze :
The jist is as follows
Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #threetunetuesday tag that would be great, as that is what I use when sifting through all the entries every Wednesday. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize.
Be sure to head over and give @ablaze some support as without his great work, we wouldn't have a #ttt.

There are a couple albums that I haven't been able to find on Spotify. Either the artist doesn't want their music there or they just haven't been added yet. I would keep those discs. Other than that, I don't see much point in keeping the other ones. It's just more space being taken up in your house!
Thanks Bozz, I am thinking along those lines too. They gotta go!
My wife is not a fan of clutter, so I have learned to let things go quite a bit over the last 15 years!
Amazing. Track list. This is a kind of collection one that was living and active at the time of most songs will seat back and reminisce to many things they where going through at the time. Thanks for sharing and bringing back some good old memories that where not so good at the time.
Thanks, it brought back some memories when sorting my old CDs out. Time goes so quickly, luckily we have many tunes to accompany us.
Very true. Listening to these songs in hind sight at times make you understand your self more than you can passively. Others would call some songs depressing, when in fact they where life to you and listening to them despite being sorrowful they made one happy and stronger at the time in question.
I can imagine what the full album will sound like
The songs are so cool
I really like them
I am glad you liked them, it is a great album.
It has been a while since I saw CD music album.
I usually listen to smooth jazz instrumental music to rest and calm my though process.
Peace
Yeah, we are not listening to CDs anymore, it is unusual to still have them.
Wow this is a piece of history!
I've recently played my first CD in years as a musician friend of mine gave my one each of his whole back catalogue - only CD player I have now is in the car so I've been listening whilst driving!)
Yeah, CDs and DVDs are slowly becoming history. Hard to believe really.
