Weekly Battle Challenge: Soul Strangler
Hello Everyone! It's me again Jhon Rey and it's time for another Weekly Battle Challenge and this week's choosen monster was SOUL STRANGLER.
The Lore
Before the chaos gate opened, the towered city of Darkholde was peaceful and quiet. Situated in the cold, Blackworth mountain range, it was presided over by a long-standing noble family and governed by Baron Kutziq Neculai. If the citizens knew the truth about their governor, then maybe they wouldn’t have been so loyal, but the Baron’s tastes were sated with great restraint and he truly did care for them, taking only what he must and never more than he had to. For Kutziq was a vampire, a race as ancient as the stones they’d used to build the city. A man who loved his people in many ways, including their unique flavour.
The soul strangler is a creature of nobility, of good stock and incredible wealth. They live in lavish opulence, wearing the finest attire and moving in the most sophisticated of circles, often engaging with the high born from other cities and enjoying intimate gatherings that last for days.
However, when this vampire chooses to hunt, they take on whole new guise, almost shifting their form to become more accomplished for the chase. Pointed ears extend refining their hearing and their eyes change colour affording the ability to see in the dark – their preferred time to hunt. Long fangs grow from their mouth and vicious talons sprout from their fingers. But what you can’t see in either form is the power they hold within their mind, an ability to attack at a spiritual level when they eventually find their adversary, squeezing the very life from them; a ranged attack that if not avoided, will have devastating consequences.
Soul Strangler is a RARE Death Element Card. I played in Silver League, in this case Soul Strangler has 3 range attack, 3 speed and 2 health with 3 mana cap. Since it has a low health I seldom used this card because it is favourite target of those monsters with Opportunity ability but this card is great and useful it depends on the combat rules and how you use and position it.
Battle
Combat Rules:
Silenced Summoner - In this rules all the summoners don't have the buff and debuff to all monsters in the field.
Equaliser + 19 mana cap - It's the best time to use the Soul Strangler because of it's low mana and low health stats.
Line Up
Thaddius Brood - -1Magic Damage and - 1 health since the rule is Silence Summoner all of the debuff of this summoner won't effect.
Riftwing - Main tank with Fly ability that have a high chance to dodge the physical attack of the enemy.
- Scavenger it gains 1 max health each time any monster dies and
- Backfire ability if an enemy misses this monster with an attack, the attacker takes two damage.
- With this abilities this is the best tank to use with the low mana cap battle.
Venari Bonesmith - Damage and 2nd tank
With life leach and poison ability it gains 1 max health everytime it inflict damage to the enemy has a chance to poison the enemy.
Revealer - With 2 magic damage and stun ability.
Soul Strangler - 2nd to the last position to deal damage and can't be taken out easily by the sneaky monster.
Corpse Fiend - Filler and Backdoor defense when the enemy uses monster with sneak ability.
Round 1 - Venari Bonesmith attack first then inflict poison in Crypt Bettle,
followed by Life sapper with 2 magic damage weirding warrior misses the attack then received 2 attack damage from the backfire ability of Riftwing.
Riftwing was killed by Crypt Bettle in Round 1 10/11.
Round 2 - Poison takes effect and it leaves 1 health in Crypt Bettle. Venari Bonesmith take the tank position and killed the Crypt Bettle. Life sapper attack the Venari Bonesmith followed by weirding warrior, soul Strangler and Carrion Shade and it kills the Bonesmith.
Round 3 - This round my Revealer was in 1st position and was attack by Life Sapper, Weirding Warrior then the Enemies soul Strangler. My Revealer was killed without attacking back.
Round 4&5 - My Soul Strangler is in 1st position since range attack monster can't attack in first position it's already an end game for me.
My strategy didn't work in this battle, I was defeated easily by my enemy because.
- My opponent used max cards for silver league from common cards to epic which is very helpful in every battle if you have a max cards you always have an upperhand when it comes in damage, speed and health.
- My opponent utilize properly the 19 mana cap.
- My opponent got more sub-tank while mine I focus on damage.
- Improper positioning of my monster.
I still like Soul Strangler because of her stats with 3 mana you have already 3 attack range and 3 speed and very useful in low mana cap battle.
What will I do differently next time?
Focus more in upgrading my cards so that I can fight well in Silver League.
That's all and thank you!
Godbless Us all!
