Why Hivers Burn Out

For one, Hive is not just where you come to earn.

This is not the same for everyone, of course, but if you're to stick to Hive with all the written and unwritten rules, you need to have the best mindset for yourself.

However, the best mindset for you might not be the same or right for me. Which is why I think the reason many Hivers including myself, burn out along the way is because we are mimicking and inculcating the mindset of others about Hive.

If you look closely, you will realize that Hive can be anything you want it when it comes to online activities.

Hive could be a game, a social media, a deFi platform, a blogging site, a blockchain and even a business venture if you make it one. However, all of this requires different mentality to nurture and grow.

While you can be a content creator with the hope of monetizing your content, the zeal you will have for crypto and the markets will be different from a businessman who is building his HBD bag and getting his 20% yield monthly to keep his business afloat.

For a gamer, his goal will be upgrading his NFTs and making sure he wins more, have more fun and earn more in game tokens too along the line.

Hive could literally be anything you make it due to its malleability. I could compare Hive with water because it can move and flow with everything you want to make it.

But the thing with some people, especially new Hivers is that they wish to take it all in in-one-go without learning the basics first.

This is why how you got to know Hive is the best starting point for you. For instance, when splinter lands was at its peak, I heard there were many people who joined hive through the game.

These people, pf course, might not even be aware of the posting side of Hive in the first few days or even months, but over time they started getting involved with the social aspect of it.

Nevertheless, if you stop gaming just because you think creating content would be more beneficial to you, then you will definitely have some hiccups along the way.

The reason is that for you to be able to earn something substantial from blogging, you need to tick countless boxes, ranging from the rules of creating content on Hive.

For a place like Facebook, Twitter, and other web2 social media apps out there where you can just steal other people's content and publish on your page, Hive is never friendly to such act and could get you I'm trouble for it.

The thing is that you could have many ideas at first, but along the way you just start to run out of ideas. This is where many creators fall off the wagon to plagiarize, thinking they can sneak it in and go Scot free.

If not for the fact that Hive is strictly about originality, I believe Hive would have close to if not more than a million daily authors by now. But because of this simple rule that many people can't seem to keep, they just see it as too much trouble.

This is why I would always tell anyone to stick with what they can do even while they are sleeping and still scale above average. I know some good gamers who know their way around things but for me, who find it difficult to play any game for more than 1 hour, it will be difficult for me to just start gaming when I fully know I won't be able to sustain it long term.

To make sure your Hive journey goes smooth without you burning out after a while, it's beat to stick with what you know and use it to build a great foundation until you are comfortable enough to enter other areas.

Such an interesting post. There's a lot one can do on hive which is why it can never be boring here. I blog more but I've dabbled into some games in the past and had fun with them, you can also trade hiveengine tokens too and make some money.

No doubt about that. There is a lot of things to get involved with here on Hive and while that's good we also have to be careful so as not to be distracted from our main hobby, passion and goal on the blockchain.

Gaming is fun but I don't see myself as a gamer just yet for now. There's still a lot about concent creation that I'm just starting to understand.

Thanks for stopping by 🤗
