Love thy neighbour

One mistake I've seen people make is that they think it's by force to love your neighbours even when you don't want to.

It's just all too fake because honestly if the love your neighbour thing is something people do I must say that the world would be a much better place. But these days most of the love we all talk about are all transactional and sometimes even dangerous.

Sadly I've been in situations where people around me plotted against me just cause they think I'm usually the guy that will always come through for them no matter what. After that situation, I barely have or make new friends as I prefer my old friends or those that I've been together with for a long time.

This post should be about time and how we use it in unnecessary areas of our lives but it also reflects about how we use it in unnecessary areas of our life that would've been used to build ourselves up for good. And one of them is trying so hard to please people even when you know they are not good people. Many don't even like you for whatever reason it might be.

Yesterday was new year but I hate to call it that. Because I believe there's nothing real about the new year if we are being honest. It's just one special day to fuel our consumerism as it is not really about love or coming together anymore.

Nonetheless, this doesn't mean we don't have people who show genuine love to one another without strings attached. But my point is that at this point people should understand that sometimes loving your neighbour can be the end of you if care is not taken. And of course, this might only apply to West Africans especially the ones here in Nigeria, as there are a lot of rules and guidelines that I think might not work realistically even if it does somewhere else. But that is another story.
