Wind River... It is a serious matter
Greetings to the biggest movie community of the Hive Blockchain, it's a pleasure to post here again. Today I want to share with you a review of a movie that already has several years of having been released, but from my point of view it will age very well taking into account the subject matter and the realities it tries to make known, in addition, it was filmed quite well and has a scenery and photography that has nothing to envy to the most successful and current films
Wind River is a thriller based on real events released in 2017 that stars Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen, a duo that we recognize perfectly for being part of the cast of the Marvel Universe. It was directed by Taylor Sheridan, a director unknown to me who actually surprised me a lot with a story that few dare to explore cinematically taking into account the bloody reality that is exposed there.
The film takes us to a remote area of Wyoming (USA), snow, cold and low temperatures are the constant even in the summer. In this area live mostly Native Americans who manage to subsist in an extreme environment where there is a lot of work to do, but little fun or recreation. And well, as is common, cold towns tend to be depressing and heavy, there is no doubt that constantly seeing a gray sky can affect our moods and our minds.
So it is that Cory (Jeremy Renner), a skilled hunter in the area is found in the mountains with the body of a young woman with Native American features to which he seems to recognize immediately, he informs the authorities and from there begins an investigation that will soon reveal a very dark part of what it takes to live in a place like that. There is little or nothing the local police can do in situations like these as they do not have the resources to carry out a thorough investigation, so they request the support of the FBI and that is where Jane (Elizabeth Olsen) makes her appearance.
Little by little Jane starts to understand how complicated it is to work in a place like this where people seem to hate white people, besides, she has to deal with the attitude of people who are clearly affected by living in such a difficult place. Everything seems to get out of hand for Jane who bravely faces complex challenges, but she did not count on the fact that Cory, who knows the people and every corner of the mountains very well, is already several steps ahead in the investigation.
For the moment I will not tell you more spoilers, but I can assure you that what is progressively revealed teaches us that there is much to be corrected in the world, there are still countries where indigenous natives are not taken seriously or not respected, being these relegated from society and forgotten by the authorities in terms of attention. It is sad to see how human nature somehow tries to take advantage of the weaknesses or vulnerabilities of others when it feels it has some advantage or power.
The film perfectly captures a reality that is difficult to see, that is not broadcast at all and that many do not seem to care about, but these are things that are slowly eating away at a society that is far from being healthy and inclusive.
Wind River is a movie worth seeing, I feel that somehow it takes us away from the fiction to which we are very well accustomed and gives us the reality bath that many of us are missing as a society and as people, it is very well directed and I would say that the performances are faithful to what the director wanted to raise, it is nice to see movie stars when they take their work seriously and implicitly raise their voice against the injustices of the world. I give this movie a score of 8.5/10, I totally recommend it.

I enjoyed this movie a lot more than I thought I was going to. Diving into the world of the politics that exist on reservations is something that we don't really hear much about and to me at least, that is what made this film so interesting.
I understand what you are saying, the political theme here is quite dark and in that sense the director knew how to convey that reality in a great way. It is undoubtedly an interesting film.
