Agatha All Along - Good start and good finale

I know that most moviegoers are not very interested in the events unfolding in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and well, to be frank, I do follow them, but in recent years I have reduced the intensity with which I am interested in the Marvel series and movies. I think that for a long time now the aforementioned universe has been losing its way, we must recognize that nothing of what has been released recently can be compared to how entertaining events like Avengers Infinity War and Avengers Endgame were, in fact, we could not even compare the current with trilogies like Guardians of the Galaxy or Captain America.

Maybe making such comparisons can be hateful since they are productions with actors of different weight and with different budgets, but I think that somehow we got used to everything being a spectacular success in each film or series and the truth is that it was so for a while, however, the habits to good things make us lose the ability to amaze and there is one of the main reasons why Marvel productions have been losing impact.

Now, Marvel's most recent production was “Agatha All Along,” a spin-off series from WandaVision in which we follow the events after the aforementioned series starring Scarlet Witch and Vision. Kathryn Hahn continued her spectacular role as Agatha Harkness, she was joined by prominent actresses such as Aubrey Plaza and Patti LuPone, among others.

This series takes us to Westview, place of the events of WandaVision, where Agatha has been under a kind of spell that keeps her away from reality for some time, this also happens to most of the town's inhabitants. She used to work as a police officer, but after a series of events she is released from the spell. So Agatha, as the witch that she is, finds it necessary to form a coven with which she could open the doors of the path that grants a wish if you reach the end of it.

I couldn't tell you if Agatha was successful or not in her enterprise, but what is certain is that she didn't necessarily get away with it, she proved to be bad, although in certain moments, perhaps in the crucial ones, she showed good intentions beyond the fact that it seemed forced. Now, my intention is not to give you spoilers or tell you the story, you can find that out for yourselves, but what I could notice about this series is that it had a good beginning and an acceptable ending, I emphasize this because there were certainly chapters that from my point of view were very bad.

Something I liked about this series is that it was full of very interesting unknowns, I think that was one of the strengths of the series because even though halfway through the season I felt the need to stop watching it, I stayed there waiting for the resolution of the unknowns. Kathryn Hahn's performance is also one of the great attractions of the series, her charisma, gestures and overt evil, although controlled, made me awaken some admiration for this actress which I had not on the radar beyond her performance in WandaVision. The special effects are also quite good, much more than what we have been seeing in recent Marvel series or movies.

However, in the middle of the season the lack of interest generated by the series becomes too evident, in particular I had a serious desire to abandon it since I could even fall asleep with some of the chapters, they seemed to lead nowhere and seemed to only extend the agony of a series destined to be not very memorable. So after a good start of the season and the agonizing middle, we were able to see a finale with revelations that I did not expect and that made it worth enduring.

So, if you're a follower of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and you're always trying to figure out loose ends or you're just consistently watching the timeline of the series and movies, well, you definitely have to watch Agatha All Along, it may not add anything significant on the overall scale of the universe, but it certainly makes us learn a lot more about the many characters that could continue to appear in subsequent productions.

I keep seeing this everywhere with a lot of positive comments on it. I think I'm starting to get curious.

As mentioned in the post, for me it was good at the beginning and end, but by mid-season things can get a bit boring. And yes, I've seen many talk about this series.
