My Bicycle Tales
Hello everyone, welcome to my blog!
I was reminded of my childhood days at the sight of this bicycle in my compound today.
The last time I rode a bicycle was over a decade ago when I last visited one of my cousins .
Growing up as a kid, i always admired how rich kids would always ride bicycle on the street. Sometimes when I go to o join them to ride and also have fun, they'll push me away and I'll go back home feeling bad.
There's a day, that kind of incident happened, and I was angry, went back home and told my parents that I needed a bicycle on my next birthday so that I could revenge back. My parents told me they will try to do that on my birthday and I was happy.
As my birthday was approaching, i kept on reminding my parents.
But, unfortunately when the D-day came, i didn't see the bicycle which i expected from my parents, i felt so bad. They said they were not financially buoyant, that's why they couldn't get it. Funny enough, i already told those kids that I was expecting my own bicycle and mine will be more beautiful.
Like I felt ashamed, and anytime i go to play or go to buy something for my parents, I'll use another route.
A few months later, I went to my cousin's place for the holidays. The first thing I noticed when I got there was a bicycle outside the house.
I was so happy that I jumped on the bike and began riding immediately. However, because I was unable to pedal, I fell off and had some bruises.
While I was staying at their home, my cousin offered to teach me how to ride a bicycle.
The next morning, i started my lessons, we did that consistently till i was good at riding.
Then sadly, the holiday came to a close, but surprisingly on the day, i was leaving my aunty promised me a bicycle.
I was reminded of those wonderful memories when I saw a beautiful bicycle today parked in our compound.
So let's get back to today. We had a visitor who rode a bicycle to our place. I noticed the bicycle outside being parked when I went outside to get something. It had been a while since I had driven a bicycle, so I was overjoyed. I had to hurry back to the home to ask the visitor whether I may ride the bicycle, and he agreed.
I went immediately and climbed the bicycle and i tried to ride but it had been a long time i did that, i found it difficult to ride the bicycle, but I tried.
I wonder if I will ever be able to ride a bicycle again without falling.
Since riding a bike is a workout and part of fun exercise, I'll be adding it to my budget list for the year and buying one for myself so I can use it on the weekends and most evenings to go to a nearby field for some quiet time. All I can hope for is that I stay on the bike.
Thanks for reading...

Nice to see you can still ride a bicycle. I hope you will soon be able to buy your own.
