Economic Struggle: The Ripple Effect on Families
Welcome to my blog!
Just as I sit and look at the current situation in my country I find myself beginning to grow up. It was hard indeed but not to the extend it became this complicated.
My grandma always used to say things like ‘Oh things have become so expensive!’ and I would just wonder what she meant. I was a kid so, I could not fathom what that was all about. Currently, I use to say to myself, if my dear grandmother were alive today probably she would have most probably died due to economic difficulties because things are hard.
Even to date, I have not met someone who will openly say ‘I am well off and that the economy is not a factor affecting me whatsoever. ’As I told my friend last year when I went to my village that there is no more need to pretend; ‘it is obvious how things are going in our world today; hardship and difficulty.
You know what?Families have now set their efforts directing on a sustainable kind of life. In smaller apartments, sending children to cheap schools, they are eating less times a day, they have also downsized the portion size they consume. They have also cut down the quantity of food they partake just to manage the current state.
Are you aware that many people today do not give heed anymore to what they should wear? For myself, I almost never invest in new and brand-new clothes or accessories. It is however sad to sit and ponder about as a family on how one is going to feed. am I the only one in this?Definitely not.
To deal with this issue, individuals are now involved in different’ kinds of jobs to improve and sustain the family. That is why I personally became a member of hive to, that by blogging, I could also earn some money.
Besides all this, I have observed some people exercising and reducing their sizes. Perhaps may assume it is because they have conceived a desire to lose some weight, but no, it is either from excessive stress or hunger. Precious souls filled with so much energy and colorful being reduced to mere ordinary living beings due to impacts on them.
Did you also know that people have transformed to corporate beggars? There are families that are left with no one to fend for them and as such, they have been forced to beg in order to put food on the table. Last week, one evening, a man knocked at our gate and I went out to meet him.
We greeted each other, and then he introduced himself and wanted to kneel. I asked him not to do that and urged him to proceed with whatever he had to convey.
He said he had graduated but because he was jobless he had to go to study tiling. That job was rare from time to time, but the reason he wanted to approach me was that the wife had just given birth, he had no idea where to get food and they have not taken anything reasonable since morning. I felt pity with the sufferings.
By that time, I didn’t have any food as usual in my house as I was so hungry, but I had a few money I had in my bag so I took it and I blessed it and gave it to the man.
I say this with deep sorrow, even as I cry for my country and my people. It will be so encouraging if we could switch the time about ten years back. It would be interesting if the prices of things just reversed ten years back.
This is such a wonderful world to live in is it not? Will it always become well? What would happen to the future generation, would they be proud of the country they emerged from?Or will they think of running abroad?
