Vendors (A Festive Celebration Part 2)

IMG_20220929_161228.jpg

A festive or fiesta is one of the biggest celebrations next to Christmas in the Philippines. It has a big budget provided by the municipality. Not only money but time and effort are being prepared for this. To make sure the celebration will be joyful. They encouraged people, and businessmen to display in the center of the town where most activities can be found.

IMG_20220929_161137.jpg

Last time I showed you the cottages intentionally built by different small villages. This time I will be showing you how busy this place is before the day of the festive celebration. It's busy because a lot of people gathered to visit the center of the town which is obviously the park where they can buy anything. From food to clothing and many more, it will not fail you to offer something.

IMG_20220928_170602.jpg

The cheaper the products, the easier people can afford them. Clothing is one of the fancy things people buy even though it's not that necessary. So if it's cheaper they will be attracted to buy from it. "Ukay-ukay" is a Bisayan word that means searching and searching even if it means digging under. Its clothes were imported from other countries. Since it's not new you can expect to buy it at a lower price.

IMG_20220928_170610.jpg

Even cheaper juices or drinks can be bought here. I guess those business owners are well aware that when people are tired of walking around they will be thirsty. However, it is not just something you can drink but also food that can solve hunger. There are those pizzas but expect them not too fancy or else it's hard to be sold here. You know locals don't have that much money in going to this place. Some of them are just thinking to see the place and how jolly it could be and roaming around. That's why this vendor here beside the road is selling something that people want to buy for an immediate response to their hunger and thirst.

IMG_20220928_170636.jpg

I said again and I will say it again that it's better to display products here at a cheaper price. You just don't need to expect the things you buy will have a name or a branded signature. These shoe booths beside the street are all class A products. It's like piracy from the original one even though the quality is very different. You can still be tempted to buy it because it looks pretty.

IMG_20220929_161251.jpg

Who kids don't love balloons? Since a whole family wants to see it by themselves, if the town's celebration is glamorous they will bring their children for sure.

IMG_20220929_161449.jpg

Well, just be ready for a certain amount in going to this place when you accompany your children. I'm sure you will have no choice but to buy balloons or toys because your children will never stop crying without buying something for them.

IMG_20220929_161518.jpg

If you're a fashionista I'm sure you'll love those bracelets, necklaces, earrings, rings, and many more handicrafts. You know it's a part of art where some people appreciate it to see being attached to their bodies.

The store owners or the ones who made it well aware that they can sell more when going to a celebration like this. Thousands of people gathered so you can find them in a place where there's a festive celebration.

There are candle vendors too that can be found everywhere. Some of them are roaming around while selling candles and some who arrived first decided to display near the candle lighting place. You know Filipinos who are Roman Catholics always believed in the power of prayers. Also, it's like paying respect for the day celebration of a certain Saint. It's just like lighting a candle in the church.

You can not always see these vendors here. It's better not to miss them because they will be here once a year when the day of the festive celebration happens. You can expect to buy different things here for sure. I just realized that it is perfect for the #marketfriday by the generous person @dswigle. Thank you by the way for the tip last time even though I was not that active like before and make sure to visit your posts at least once a day.

Thank you for reading

Paul is the name but prefers to be called mrnightmare that feels like living in the dream. A country boy and a dreamboy (dreamer) who likes to stay in a small village even though it means abandoning the future to become a seaman. The passion is writing but not sailing in the vast ocean. Don't wonder if the face will not be shown, this is better where the words can flow smoothly. Come, you can tell me your stories and I'll tell you mine. Together, let's explore the world by broadening our thoughts. If you need a shoulder I can lean you mine and I hope I can lean yours. The world is fun when living is not being alone but with someone.

This fiesta is perfect for small business owners and the best time for everyone to gather together and have a mini-reunion.

Is it like a night market, why do you say a festival, maybe a different place that we go to is it true, my friend?

It's a festival because it's the celebration of that town or small village where it was founded. Night market happens all the time but is not as crowded as this.

it looks like it would be fun to have it in my area to stay, but unfortunately maybe here doesn't have much to do....

I miss the colorful celebrations of fiesta. Due to covid 19 pandemic, we missed a lot of these things. I’m looking for our town fiesta as well. Have fun!!

The festival is very interesting and also very good because in my place there are also several festivals but they are not very lively because of course there is no freedom here and all of that is regulated by the government. I hope someday I can enjoy such an interesting festival somewhere

When did you say there's no freedom? Is there a country like that, if there is then where?

Yes, I hope you will so you will experience how lovely it will be to witness the joy.

something like this should always be there to display some local products like you said even though the price is cheaper, in my area in Indonesia there is also a tradition like that and almost the same

Hi, Paul! @mrnightmare89 Me giving you a tip has nothing to do with you being active on my account or not. It has everything to do with giving another human being something they can use at the moment. It is as simple as that. It is nice that you stop in to check out my post, but, me sending you anything does not depend on that. Just remember that.

Human kindness first.

Aside from that, what a nice festival, and even better are your pictures and descriptive wording! It was a great post! I like that the vendors play to their audience. Knowing that money is little, they keep the price affordable, displaying things that they can buy. I dislike going someplace and not being able to afford them, What fun is that? A few trinkets to dream about, sure. But keep your clientele in mind. Otherwise, you will be packing it all back up to take home.

This was a wonderful post and words! Thank you so much!

I want to thank you for being a part of the #MarketFriday Challenge. I have personally found there is always so much to learn about people, where they live, and how things are done in different parts of the world. For me, reaching out across the globe and learning about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers' markets, has been such a rewarding experience. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the rituals, festivals, food, architecture, and even your language/languages that separate us... and what is normal for us? There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. We do differ in many ways, which makes us interesting and unique, but, there are many ways in which are so much alike.

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

Rules of the Road to Join #MarketFriday!

  1. Go to the market, or anywhere that you pay money for a service.
    Take pictures! Be creative!
  2. Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost? Was it expensive or cheap? Did it go up or down? Please do not post 30 pictures with no words about them.Do not use pictures more than once in a post!
  3. Post the pictures. Of course, you should tell a little bit about the ones you post, it is too difficult to guess on some
    4. #MarketFriday must be your first tag.
Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post (#hive-196308) This is not required but appreciated.
    5. PLEASE Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it!!
  4. Following me and reblogging the post would be appreciated, but not a rule, more vision for more views on the #MarketFriday posts!
    7. You must put #MarketFriday by @dswigle somewhere on your post.
As always, please remember! #MarketFriday loves you!

I understand, but, I am built to be kind and not to judge. I understand why you have been missing. Some day you will have time to do as you wish. In the meantime, real life is calling you.

We all miss you, but you are doing the right thing for the moment. :) I hope you have a great weekend!
