The Reunion
It has been awhile, “how are you? What are you up to?” Then laugh out loud with hidden tears that no one knows. The random words just to make excuses to say something because part of themselves are reluctant to act like the old days. The nostalgic feeling of being together with friends during the old days is slowly coming back. Not too obvious, working hard not to be expressive. It is as if, a silhouette of emotions, beautiful but not too bright.
There are some who couldn’t pretend, hugging and sometimes crying. It’s quite embarrassing considering the age and might be in the thoughts, as of now it is different. Endless and fast talk, as if someone is catching up. Hurriedly thinking that there should be something to say. Actually, it’s not the time to keep on talking. It’s just that, for how long it has been, there are too many words that come out. Also, the missing feeling it’s the one that is responsible. That’s why after the greetings, during the old days will be the context of the conversations.
The warmth of time started to engulf the surroundings. There’s no love so sweet as being in love with the opposite sex but wondering why wishing for time to slowly run. No one wears Cinderella's shoes but why are they always checking the time. Laughing out loud but silently checking how much time is left already.
More especially when the group of friends have different locations and each one has children must not be left alone for long. The thought of sadness comes over as realizing it’s not the same. Yes, the time when there was no family waiting and there were no responsibilities must be prioritized.
The sad part of the reunion is the Goodbyes. Unlike when going to a meeting place, excitement is just the only feeling being felt. Being excited makes an individual very happy. Yes, goodbyes are quite sad but like the truth of this world, nothing is permanent. Even so, the time that was spent with the people you’d consider special makes the emotions feel beautiful. Also, there might always be an ending of everything but it will be happening again. The fading memories are returning and creating new ones. The reunion is just the beginning for the new chapter of friendship. For sure it will not only happen once because the reminiscing feeling just felt would urge everyone to have a gathering again.
