Street Photography | Emotions but No Words
Photographs express the emotions of someone. Without asking or without hearing someone’s stories. It could easily be told what’s happening or what’s going on in someone's life. Though maybe it’s kind of arrogant for me to speak that I could read or we could, photographers, but you know kind of obvious base on expressions by staring thoroughly from photographs.
Of course, in the street is where you can find a lot of subjects. People, animals, plants or anything can be found there. Then, it was a lonely time for me while watching the time pass by steadfastly. I watch people passing by, walking, running or even riding on a motorcycle. It caught my interest from the depth of their facial expressions. My black and white time while watching over the store with not many customers coming became colorful.
At first it was hard to find a perfect angle without going outside from the store. I was not content and I thought of wanting nicer shots. I went outside just to make sure my heart would be content with the kind of expressions I wanted. Sometimes they were hiding or I was not sure if they noticed me taking photos from afar. It’s just that there were people who refused to face forward or to face upward where their emotions could be vivid.
Fortunately I saw people facing forward. It made me happy and obviously I felt livelier. The withering feeling came back to life again. “This is it, this is what I wanted”, I said to myself while watching the images I took right away. Then again, the attitude of a man that was not content took over. I drove from a distance where I thought the act of the subjects would suffice my desires.
Two girls who were sitting beside the street. They were so serious and I didn’t know why but the emotional me thought they were perfect for the act that I wanted to do. Sometimes I wish it was me who should be captured with this kind of projection but I accepted that it would be impossible. So yeah, it was my idea to make them projected like those. So sorry, it was in my best interest but I’m not sure about others. Even so, it pleases my heart to take pictures for free. Unfortunately, but not sadly, I haven’t been booked as a photographer these days. It’s okay because I’m still not good enough yet.
