A Neighbor's Re-Gardening

Living in the province gives you so many opportunities for different things. You have a wide space to use, whether it's yours or not. I'm talking about the land that can be used with or without the owner's consent. As long as you will not think of owning it or planting plants that will be hard to remove in the time the owner needs it. Just like this one of my neighbors.

Gardening in this place helps people to have food and to have money. When their plants grow well and bear fruits, whether they'll sell it or cook it for themselves. It's very beneficial to grow plants by yourself since whenever you need it there will be something you can grab immediately. You don't have to worry about food if you're hungry.

Before typhoon Odette, you could see a lot of gardens in this area. Under these coconut trees, gardens full of crops could be seen here. I remember when I went to this place just to buy immediate food to cook because it didn't disappoint me when I came here. For sure I could buy something to cook.

Not just establishments were destroyed by the typhoon. That's why after a few months after the typhoon the place went to become like a wild forest again. It was barely being taken care of because of being too busy repairing and rebuilding their houses.

One fine morning I came here to see if someone's growing crops again. I thought of buying it but I noticed someone just started their garden. The plants were just too small to bear fruit and it's too obvious from the appearance of the land that it's just recently been working on. The plants are still too small and the field is just new in plowing it.

The good thing about having a garden is the location near the river. Just a few steps and you will arrive at it. However, I don't think it can receive good heat from the sun when these coconut trees here will grow well. Maybe the gardener knew it already and chose a type of crop that can survive without much heat from the sun. Unfortunately, I don't recognize this type of crop planted here.

That's why living in the province gives someone so much joy in gardening. As you go out you can already see the plants that are growing well. What's more, is that you can take care of it before going to a job and after a day job. It will relieve someone's stress for sure just by watching a garden. Just too bad I don't have much time for now after being busy with other things. We all know that the garden will not feed us food from the time we started it. It will take time but when that time comes it will become handy and you can rely on it.

By the looks of it, its camote po.
If I have that opportunity, I will do the same. Or yes, I remember our riverside garden, the land was not ours but we could garden it. We gave produce to the land owner when the time of harvest. The owner is old and has not been able to visit her land, she was glad when we handed her the veggies.
