Marriage Is A Beautiful Thing: Follow These Steps

Good afternoon friends. It is a new week and I am pretty sure all is set to make a difference. It is an opportunity for me to share my views on the subject of marriage. As an individual who has been in marriage for ten whole years, I am sure my experience can be worth the while and as readers of my blog, you will learn one or two lessons from my experience. Come along as I share.

Marriage is the agreement of a man and a woman to spend the rest of their lives together, forever. It must be the union between a man and a woman and not what the Western world is peddling in the name of modernization where individuals of the same gender are tied together in marriage, some are even tied with animals in what they call marriage.

Permit me to say here that marriage is the first institution that God inaugurated. God loves it when a man finds a woman to settle down with.

As against what people have turned marriage into, making it look like a battleground, marriage is a beautiful thing. For a marriage to be successful, love must be the central reason why one becomes affectionately in love with another.

Reasons For Marriage

There are standard reasons why people get married. These reasons are world accepted and are similar in every continent of the world. If there are other reasons, it must be considered critically before it can be imbibed.

Love: Love is the central processor of a beautiful marriage. To love is a great task. But when love rules, marriage becomes fun and enjoyable. It is in the character of love that you will find forgiveness, patience, humility, and other good and godly virtues. Whether you like it or not, one reason why many marriages have failed in our time is because the character of love as indicated above (patience, humility, forgiveness, kindness etc) have not been acknowledged in marriages today. Love conquers all. Anyone who marries for any other reason other than love may not be happy in that marriage when that reason is gone.

Companionship: The first reason why a man should cleave to a woman is to be first friends. One who you will be able to lean on without permission. A typical biblical example of why God made a woman compliment the man was because he was lonely. So, to kill boredom, the woman was made to be the companion of the man. Hence, for one to marry, he must be friends with his or her spouse first. That is the first foundation and reason for marriage.

Procreation: A couplej could agree to give birth to a number of children. It is one of the major reasons why people get married in this part of the world. Our African parents are on the brink of checking a newly wedded woman's protruded stomach, indicating pregnancy as soon as marriage is enacted. Aside from that, marriage is enacted to bring about generational continuity. A family nomenclature is furthered when children are birthed in marriage. So, it is simple and agreeable to say that marriage is for the continuity of human lineage.

Social Security: A man who should reason about marriage is one who is psychologically, emotionally and financially ready. For a marriage to be secured, the partners must be mature in age, they must be financially independent and also be ready to handle marital issues without a third party. They must have a source of income as words are not enough to run a successful home and marriage.

Every Marriage Is A New Culture

One thing that has kept me going in marriage is the fact that my wife and I are not in competition with anyone. We run our home as our private venture.

We knew that when two people agree to get married, it is forever. Hence, since they both come from different homes, that is certainly two different cultures. As such, when they come together, those two cultures become a new one, a new way of life which cannot be found anywhere in the world.

Couples should realize this. It will help them to nurture their marriage without referring to any marriage in particular.

In our case, we do not want our children to suffer because of our errors. So, we agree to adopt these methods.

We also agreed not to hold grudges against ourselves. So, every day is for forgiveness if there is any wrongdoing.

There is also no stereotyping in my marriage. By this, I mean that home chores can be done by any of us. I cooked and even cleaned. Instead of following the long-aged method of women being responsible for cooking and cleaning.

In a lighter mood, everyone who is in a marriage or about to go into a marriage should not do it for gains. Remember the recent footballer Hakimi's case where his supposed girlfriend was all about his wealth. This is the purpose some people enter into marriage, greed.
