Two tweets for $100,000
Last Thursday, cryptocurrency Twitter user “Punk9059” revealed that he had made more than $100,000 in crypto by posting two tweets about the “Pacmoon” meme.
User “Punk9059” tweeted:
I made over $100k for 2 tweets.
The crazy thing is, I didn't know it was going to happen.
About Pacmoon coin:
“Pacmoon” is a meme coin based on the “Blast” network, which launched its mainnet in late February.
The BLAST network has attracted significant attention, with the total value locked exceeding $1.4 billion ahead of the BLAST airdrop scheduled for late June.
Meme coins are digital tokens based on internet memes, celebrities or brands.
Pacmoon uses Pac-Man-inspired imagery and rewards community interaction and participation by awarding digital tokens to its supporters who share currency-related content.
The story behind the two tweets:
During the tweet showcase, Punk9059, who works at Memeland, said the first tweet was about news of a free distribution of Pacmoon (PAC) coins to Blast participants, along with their referral code, on February 28.
This tweet went viral, but the benefits were greater than expected thanks to an accidental error.
“Punk9059” explained:
This tweet went viral.
And my friend [Frank DeGoods] accidentally tweeted my code instead of his own.
Frank DeGods, also known as Rohun Vora, is the founder of DeGods and y00ts NFT projects and has a large following on Twitter.
Ultimately, sharing the wrong referral code led to great success for “Punk9059,” even though PAC tokens were not very valuable at the time.
“Punk9059” noted that he thanked “Frank” with $50 after the tweet, and that tweet with a picture of “Frank” holding a $50 bill next to “Punk9059.” This picture and tweet also spread very quickly, which led to additional gains.
Punk9059 earned 354,179 PACs for referrals, followed by another 698,137 PACs for viewing tweets, for a total of 1,052,316 PACs – the equivalent of $168,370 as of Thursday.
With the value of the PAC rising by 7% in the past 24 hours, the value of the cryptocurrencies he received is approximately $218,000.
- “Punk9059” said:
There were more tweets in the mix, but these two did most of the work.
The best part? My followers also earned if they viewed the tweet and signed up.
- He added:
I'll take the reward, of course.
