Today the family eats wild turkey [EN/ES]

Greetings community. After several weeks without getting close to nature, today I put on my camouflage clothes, checked my weaponry and headed to the Roonache Heights to hunt with my dog Rasputin. So join me on this little excursion.

I start in the shelter that is near Balmont and I start my way to the north since the wind is with current to the south, when I arrive to the border with the Kraken Mount I decide to go to the west, I have several minutes of way, the last excursion was very moved the west zone and it is possible that this zone is still a little tense. In the distance I hear some turkeys, I'm going to explore very carefully.

Saludos comunidad. Después de varias semanas sin acercarme a la naturaleza, hoy me he puesto mi ropa camuflada, he revisado mi armamento y me he dirigido a los Altos de Roonache para cazar junto a mi perro Rasputín. Así que acompáñenme en esta pequeña excursión.

Inicio en el refugio que esta cerca de Balmont y emprendo mi camino hacia el norte ya que el viento esta con corriente hacia el sur, al llegar a la frontera con el Monte Kraken decido ir al oeste, tengo varios minutos de camino, la excursión pasada estuvo muy movido la zona oeste y puede que esa zona todavía este algo tensa. A la distancia escucho algunos pavos, voy a explorar con mucho cuidado.

I hide in the bushes so they don't see me, but one of them sees me and runs away, about 60 meters away I can see several black and white turkeys eating and playing in a relaxed manner. I position myself so they can't see me and use my wild turkey decoy, but they don't heed my call. The white turkeys look very big but they are slowly retreating, the others are also retreating, it is time to do something or I will lose them, I can take two consecutive shots with my shotgun, so I am going to get a little closer to them and shoot them quickly, the only problem is that as soon as I get up from this bush they will be able to see me.

Me escondo en los arbusto para que no me vean, pero uno de ellos me vio y huye, a lo lejos como a unos 60 metros puedo ver varios pavos negros y blancos comiendo y jugando de manera relajada. Me posiciono de una manera que no puedan verme y utilizo mi señuelo para pavos salvajes, sin embargo no hacen caso al llamado. Los pavos blancos se ven muy grandes pero se están retirando lentamente, los otros también se están retirando, es hora de hacer algo o los perderé, puedo hacer dos disparos consecutivos con mi escopeta, así que voy a acercarme un poco más a ellos y dispararles rápidamente, el único problema es que apenas me levante de este arbusto me podrán ver.

I come out of my hiding place, aim at one of them and shoot, then aim at the next one and shoot, I quickly reload my shotgun while I see that the turkeys are running to gain momentum and fly away, I aim at another one and shoot, I see that two of them already fell dead, and I shoot once more, I think I missed the last one. The white turkeys took flight, I reload and shoot them while they are in the air, but I don't think I hit any of them. I try to calm down a bit as I look at the scene, several dead turkeys on the spot.

Salgo de mi escondite, apunto a uno de ellos y disparo, luego apunto al siguiente y disparo, rápidamente recargo mi escopeta mientras veo que los pavos están corriendo para tomar impulso e irse volando, apunto a otro y disparo, veo que dos de ellos ya cayeron muertos, y disparo una vez más, creo que al último no le pude dar. Los pavos blancos levantaron el vuelo, recargo y les disparo mientras van en el aire, pero creo que no le he dado a ninguno. Intento calmarme un poco mientras veo la escena, varios pavos muertos en el lugar.

In total I have managed to kill four wild turkeys, two females that have given me bronze trophies and one female with a silver trophy. At least I have been able to kill a male that has given me a gold trophy, it is big, it has almost 9kg and I killed him at 63 meters distance. The truth is that I do not want to kill females, but in the case of turkeys, rabbits and ducks I will make an exception, for large animals if I will be respecting the gender in this hunting trip.

En total he conseguido matar cuatro pavos salvajes, dos hembras que me han otorgado trofeos de bronce y una hembra con trofeo de plata, Por lo menos he podido matar un macho que me ha dado un trofeo de oro, esta grande, tiene casi 9kg y lo mate a 63 metros de distancia. La verdad es que no quiero matar ejemplares hembras, pero en el caso de pavos, conejos y patos voy a hacer una excepción, para animales grandes si estaré respetando el género en esta salida de cacería.

It's exciting, I think it's the first time I kill so many specimens at once, the other time I shared with you that I was able to kill several turkeys but I think it was two at a time, this time it's been four turkeys. I'm seriously thinking about buying the weapon pack that includes a kind of silent air shotgun, I saw it to my colleague @pravesh0 once, I don't remember the name of the DLC, with that weapon I will be able to kill many turkeys at once, or ducks.

I'm resting in a hidden place to see if any unsuspecting animal approaches, I didn't notice but it got dark already. The wind is still blowing south so I'll move a little to the west to stay within this area. Let's see if I can hunt anything else before dawn.

Es emocionante, creo que es primera vez que mato tantos ejemplares a la vez, la otra vez les compartí que pude matar varios pavos pero creo que fueron dos a la vez, esta vez han sido cuatro pavos. Estoy pensando seriamente en comprar el pack de armas que incluye una especie de escopeta de aire silenciosa, se la vi a mi colega @pravesh0 una vez, no recuerdo el nombre del DLC, con ese arma podré matar muchos pavos a la vez, o patos.

Estoy descansando en un lugar oculto a ver si se acerca algún animal desprevenido, no me he dado cuenta pero ya se hizo de noche. El viento sigue su curso hacia el sur así que me moverá un poco hacia el oeste para seguir dentro de esta zona. Veamos si puedo cazar algo más antes del amanecer.

There is a full moon, which is good because I can see quite well around me, however I still have to turn on the flashlight to see the tracks of any animal. Walking in this area becomes a bit difficult because it is the foot of a big mountain, up there I hear some wild turkeys, but I am not going up there, the wind would give me away. I just saw bear tracks but they are heading towards Mount Kraken, I will continue west, I don't want to leave Roonache Heights for now.

We are a bit tired, the night is still young but we have been walking non-stop and we haven't seen any other animal after those turkeys. We have arrived at these cabins that serve as a rest, Rasputin gets very happy and examines the whole place wagging his tail. We will stay here for a while resting and we will eat something, there are several nearby areas that serve as feeding grounds at 4am, maybe we will go out at 3am for a walk, at this moment it is 10pm.

The bears have an excellent sight, not to mention their sense of smell, I am resting with Rasputin in the cabin, but I hear a bear near the place, I just get up to see if I can locate it and I can see it running away at about 70 meters, so I quickly take out my rifle, but by mistake I use the .223 caliber so at that distance it is very difficult to be able to knock down that big bear. I shoot and I see with my binoculars that the bear is still running, so I go to the place and I only see a small blood stain that indicates that I barely made a superficial impact. I'm not going to follow him, I'll continue my way to the west, I'm already up so let's see another time if we manage to hunt something else.

I just saw a coyote, I took three shots at it and didn't hit any of them, too bad, maybe it was a ghost coyote XD. I'm going to stay for an elevated hunting post.

Well my people, it is already 2am and I have been walking with my partner Rasputin for many hours, we have not seen any animal, it is only 2 hours to 4am which is when the bank tailed deer approach their feeding ground, but I am already very tired and I will stay in the Roonache Heights refuge which is located west of the area. Los osos tienen una vista excelente, ni hablar de su olfato, estoy descansando con Rasputin en la cabaña, pero escucho un oso cerca del lugar, apenas me levanto para ver si logro ubicarlo y puedo verlo huyendo a unos 70 metros, así que rápidamente saco mi rifle, pero por error utilizo el de calibre .223 por lo que a esa distancia es muy difícil que pueda tumbar a ese gran oso. Disparo y veo con mis prismáticos que el oso sigue corriendo, así que voy al lugar y solo veo una pequeña mancha de sangre que indica que apenas le hecho un impacto superficial. No lo voy a seguir, seguiré mi camino al oeste, ya me levanté así que veamos otro rato si logramos cazar algo más.

Acabo de ver un coyote, le he realizado tres disparos y no acerté ninguno, que mal, tal vez sería un coyote fantasma XD. Me voy a quedar un puesto de caza elevado.

Bueno mi gente, ya son las 2am y he estado caminando con mi compañero Rasputin por muchas horas, no hemos visto ningún animal, ya solo faltan 2 horas para las 4am que es cuando se acercan los ciervos de cola banca a su comedero, pero ya estoy muy cansado y me quedaré en el refugio de los Altos de Roonache que se encuentra al oeste de la zona. Espero que la próxima vez tenga más cacería que hoy, así que nos vemos muy pronto.
