Hace mucho tiempo que no juego Minecraft, pero esto se debe a que estoy muy enganchado a otros títulos, sin embargo, esta semana pude ver que en la comunidad de Neoxian tienen un servidor Minetest, no sabía que era pero uno de los moderadores hablaba de él como si de un Minecraft se tratara, por lo cual pregunté y, sí, es un juego de código abierto muy similar a Minecraft. Así que la curiosidad me invadió y decidí probarlo. Veamos que conseguí en Minetest en el servidor de Neoxian.

It's been a long time since I played Minecraft, but this is because I am very hooked to other titles, however, this week I could see that in the Neoxian community they have a Minetest server, I didn't know what it was but one of the moderators talked about it as if it was a Minecraft, so I asked and, yes, it is an open source game very similar to Minecraft. So curiosity got the better of me and I decided to try it out. Let's see what I got in Minetest on the Neoxian server.

Una vez instalado el juego, agregué el servidor Neoxian y me cree el usuario y clave. Apenas entré pude ver que el punto de aparición esta bastante maltratado, eso sí, cuenta con un portal hecho por el gran Pravesh0, no lo probé porque primero quería explorar la zona. Por cierto, en el juego soy una simpática mujer.

Once the game was installed, I added the Neoxian server and created my username and password. As soon as I entered I could see that the point of appearance is quite battered, yes, it has a portal made by the great Pravesh0, I did not try it because I wanted to explore the area first. By the way, in the game I am a nice woman.

Cambié algunos teclas de control ya que son diferentes a Minecraft, también los bloques y armas son diferentes, pero no tanto como para entrar en una gran confusión, es como un pack de texturas suaves. El bioma es muy similar también.

El problema es el lag en el servidor pero, creo que es mi internet que ha estado fatal estas semanas.

Derribé un árbol completo, me hice un hacha y pico de madera, exploré la zona circundante, solo vi un caballo esqueleto. El agua también la exploré y todo muy similar al original.

Al caer la noche me fui a minar para aprovechar el tiempo, por lo cual mejoré mi hacha y pico a piedra.

I changed some control keys as they are different from Minecraft, also the blocks and weapons are different, but not so much as to get into a big confusion, it's like a soft texture pack. The biome is very similar as well.

The problem is lag on the server but, I think it's my internet that has been terrible these weeks.

I took down a whole tree, made myself an axe and pickaxe out of wood, explored the surrounding area, only saw a skeleton horse. I also explored the water and everything was very similar to the original.

At nightfall I went mining to take advantage of the time, so I upgraded my axe and pickaxe to stone.

Luego salí de la cueva con algo de hierro, pude ver a lo lejos que había como una casa o un techo, también había fuego, así que fui a ver de qué se trataba. Al acercarme al lugar noté que ya alguien había estado en la zona, había antorchas y lugares donde se apreciaba que estuvieron picando. Mas arriba el fuego estaba muy vivo, un incendio forestal bastante activo.

No vi rastros de lava o algo parecido que provoque este incendio así que probablemente un usuario lo activo o no sé que cosa sucede aquí. La vaca y el pollo que estaban en el lugar tuve que sacrificarlos para que no sufran por el fuego, pasaran a mejor vida en mi estómago.

Then I went out of the cave with some iron, I could see in the distance that there was like a house or a roof, there was also a fire, so I went to see what it was about. As I approached the place I noticed that someone had already been in the area, there were torches and places where I could see that they had been chopping. Further up the fire was very much alive, a fairly active forest fire.

I didn't see any traces of lava or anything like that causing this fire so probably a user activated it or I don't know what's going on here. The cow and the chicken that were in the place I had to sacrifice them so they would not suffer from the fire, they will pass to a better life in my stomach.

A pocos metros pude ver un campo de árboles de tronco grueso, estuve explorando y me pareció hermoso. Acá viendo el menú pude notar que puedo cambiar mi skin, y me coloqué un skin de hombre macho pecho peludo como debe ser.

También exploré el fondo del agua en esa parte y vi una entrada a una cueva con una mina, así que sin dudar entre a explorarla. Esta cueva ya había sido explorada porque tenía antorchas en varios lugares, y solo había carbón y cobre por minar, el hierro y otros minerales se los habían llevado.

A few meters away I could see a field of thick trunk trees, I was exploring and I found it beautiful. Here looking at the menu I could notice that I can change my skin, and I put on a male hairy chest skin as it should be.

I also explored the bottom of the water in that part and I saw an entrance to a cave with a mine, so without hesitation I went in to explore it. This cave had already been explored because I had torches in several places, and there was only coal and copper to be mined, the iron and other minerals had been taken away.

Estuve un rato dando vueltas por la mina, pude acumular varios stack de carbón, decidí hacer una mesa de crafteo y colocarla pero el lag me duplicó el bloque, luego hice el horno y fundí 7 hierros que había conseguido al principio y algo de comida, pero el lag no me dejaba recogerlos, estuve largo rato intentando poder avanzar y no podía, así que finalicé el juego.

Tengo curiosidad por ver las creaciones de otros Hivers en este mundo, pero será en otra oportunidad cuando mi internet mejore.

Para finalizar, creo que Minetest no es un mal juego, tiene la ventaja de ser gratis y de bajos recursos por lo cual permite que casi todo el mundo pueda jugarlo. Además de soportar varios sistemas operativos también se puede jugar en celulares, digamos que yo podría estar jugando en la PC y mi colega en un celular, eso esta muy bien. Pero es necesario tener el servidor del juego alojado en servidor de buena conexión a internet porque de otro modo el lag afectaría de tal manera la experiencia de juego que será imposible divertirse.

I was a while walking around the mine, I could accumulate several stacks of coal, I decided to make a crafting table and place it but the lag doubled the block, then I made the oven and melted 7 irons that I had gotten at the beginning and some food, but the lag did not let me pick them up, I spent a long time trying to move forward and I could not, so I finished the game.

I'm curious to see the creations of other Hivers in this world, but it will be another time when my internet is better.

To finish, I think that Minetest is not a bad game, it has the advantage of being free and low resources so it allows almost everyone to play it. Besides supporting several operating systems it can also be played on cell phones, let's say that I could be playing on the PC and my colleague on a cell phone, that's very good. But it is necessary to have the game server hosted on a server with a good internet connection because otherwise the lag will affect the game experience in such a way that it will be impossible to have fun.
