Sewing Christmas caps for the orphans and less privilege

Hello Hive

It is the season of love and we must must not be left out sharing whatever we have to the vulnerable of society. Some times it is not always about money we can render services that will leave indelible mark in the lives of these children.

Yesterday was one of those days we decided as a team to visit the orphanage because I volunteer with some friends to work with an NGO who specializes in this aspect. While we have put together all the items we needed to gift the children such as books and stationary, food stuff and clothes we realized that something was missing. There won't be a Christmas party without a cap and rather than purchasing some expensive caps we decided to sew it ourselves. I have bought a Christmas cap yesterday from the market which was of very bad quality and I had to rework it in a post here
Hence we can save some money sewing it ourselves.

The color for Santas cap is Yellow and white. A velvet material of white and yellow was purchased and your yarn to make the pompom of the tip. To make the cap firmer on the head, some form was added into the edges of the cap.

Cut Cone shaped velvet in different sizes of 22" 24" or even less according to an average humans head

Next I was stitching the edges here

Then a rectangular white velvet to tape the edge of the cone here.
This was where I added some foam to make it firmer

Here we used some white yarn 🧶 for the pompom of the tip. Just wrap some yarms around your hand, tie it tightly in the middle and cut out

Next we inserted the pompom into the tip of the cap and sewed it here

Sewing everything together and a new and quality Christmas cap is ready for a child out there.
I never knew that sewing this will be much easier than I thought I wouldn't have made any purchase from the market yesterday buying two caps alone for $2 when I can use that amount to make at least 10caps for a good number of children.

And just imagine how creative our conveyer had been to sew something beautiful for the babies and toddlers in the orphanage.
Toddlers Christmas cap carried a unique difference 🥳🥳🥳🎉🎉

This is just how diy can save anyone of severe spending and also you can make quality products for yourself.
Celebrating Christmas with our families is not enough, let us endeavor to reach out to the vulnerable of society and show them some love too and sometimes it is not about finances, the little services we can render will impact these children. This was how I joined in sewing of the caps for the outreach to an orphanage yesterday.
