Planting my Chilli Pepper in Nursery bed 🌶️🌶️🌶️

(Edited)

Hello Hive

It is that time of the year when we begin to grow our pepper at the nursery stage. Most forms of pepper are planted about this time. Planting is first done in the nursery before transplanting to the main farm will be done later when the pepper have grown a little bit.

The nursery stage is one of the most difficult part for growing pepper. Once the first rain falls like it has done some few days ago we create a nursery for our pepper seeds and plant them. Pepper 🌶️🌶️🌶️ spend at least 8weeks in nursery before we get to transplant them to the main farm when the rains are in abundance.

I feel like growing some pepper this year and having gotten some seeds from the market I have gone ahead to plant them this morning.
Taking a portion of space from where the children have helped me to clear earlier, I raked it all over again clearing out stones and breaking soil before raising it up a little, then I got the ground well watered before spreading my seeds.

I only planted a little portion of these chilli pepper to see if they are of good quality seeds and would germinate well. Growing nursery pepper is usually like a game of luck

Once that is established I will be going further to purchase more. If I am able to scale through this nursery stage and establish some pepper seedling here successfully it will be easy for me to grow some chilli pepper in our main farm this year.

The nursery stage will require constant daily wetting at least twice daily to keep the soil temperature in check as the weather is usually too hot these days.

And I can decide to add some manure to enhance it growth. Most times I prepare the organic manure for growing seedlings like this. Inorganic manure often cause pepper seedlings to grow more faster. They get so tall but very weak and during transplanting it is usually a challenge. Inorganic manure makes it grow moderately and the roots are strong making it less difficult to be established when transplanted.
So the nursery stage of our pepper growth starts today. Let's see how far this will go.
