Farmers and Cattle Rearers's Constant Feud , How goats came to feed on our Millet
As much as we have planted these guinea corn for food, animals also need this plant for food both in the green form and also the harvested Millet. Having to see escaped goats come feed on our guinea corn got me upset this morning upon reaching the farm, from afar they had spotted me coming and took to their heels.
There has been a constant feud between farmers and Cattle rearers in this community and this is so with so many rural areas in the country.
Animals are meant to feed on grasses in open field or we have their owners provide their food but during the dry seasons when there are not enough grasses, we often have animal invasions like this where Cattle rearers deliberately take their animals into our field to feed on our crops.
In most cases this has led to serious clash between farmers and animal rearers in which lot of lives have been lost.
My dad been a retired police man has had various encounters with those heartless Fulani cattle rearers, often times he will seize their weapons and we have a line up of cutlass and dangerous daggers in the house currently.
The situation got better in this community where we have spoken diligently to the animal rearers to keep their goats bound until harvest is completed before they come feed on the farm debri/residue.
Once in a while I have to drop by each farm with my siblings to check in it's progress or paradventure there is a challenge such as this.
The craziest thing that often happens is that whenever a goat notices some good plant to feed on, it goes back to be followed by more of it's companion to come feed on the farm.
I hope that before we start harvesting these corn, our rice and soya beans that this goat owners and Cattle rearers wouldn't have realeased their animals.
Harvest should be completed first before

(no space) to get help on Hive. InfoI hope you do not have their invasion before the harvest. Animal invasion through the care less and nonchalant irresponsibility of owners causes a significant loss in yield for farmers
Exactly my fear, thanks for stopping by.
You're welcome
Animals rearers doesn't really care about farmers before releasing their animals which is really bad. Sometimes I wonder if they also have farms some where because if they do, they will know that it is not good for them released their castles any how
