Drastic effects of the flooding of our Rice fields ๐ŸŒพ๐ŸŒพ๐ŸŒพ๐ŸŒพ๐ŸŒพ

Hello Hive.

Flooding and immediate drastic draining of rice field is another major concerning rice farm. It happens when waters flows in goes away abruptly making the field dried instantaneously. Draining of water from field is expected to be done gradually. The water should cover the rice plants to it's tip neither is it expected to dry up from the swamp and leave the soil dry.

Today makes it exactly 7 days that flood water from a nearby driver flooded our rice field, swallowing up the growing crops. It is an occurrence that happens occasionally when we have excess rainfalls and different places have to open up their dams.

Everyone was concerned about the growing rice as the field was prolonging overshadowing if the plant at this time could cause the producing grains and plant to get rotten.

Today I am more than glad to see that the waters have given way and the rice is doing fine. Even the river that was scarily full has now gone down. All of the guinea corn fields at the water banks are now showing up their heads, and almost everything was covered up by the water. The water spent about 3 days in the farms before they started going down, and now almost everywhere is dry.

Another issue of concern had come up right after the waters gave way. Flooding of fields often comes with this concern. Flood water often makes fields dry up faster than they are meant to. Soon as the water is going away, it does drain fields if their moisture contents.

When rainwater falls in a swamp and soaks the soil, evaporation is often very gradual compared to when massive water comes in and goes away drastically and immediately.
Take a look at how dry the soil went in just a moment.

We're all hoping now that the field doesn't dry up before the grains get mature. October has past midway now, and even though we were promised abundant rains for this latter period due to the earlier drought, I don't see that coming into play.

The weather has been really clear later, signaling the end of rainfall. Everyone is on the lookout that these grains should produce some foods before the rain eventually packs up.
