Diy Sewing process of a reversible bonnet for a special friend of mine

Hello Hive

Happy and beautiful new day to us in the community; the day is bright, and I hope that we are feeling bright and motivated as well. It is time to rise, shine, and enjoy every good thing the day has to offer. And of course our time and days cannot be meaningful unless we put them to good use.

So here I am, doing what I love most, and then I'm privileged to share with the community about my joys and what makes me happy.

Sewing makes me happy, most especially when it meets with a present need of clothing someone.
It's always a blessing to sew new clothes for people and bless them with our skills and talents.

Today I made a special reversible bonnet cap for a special friend.
Guess what? I'm privileged to host her for a while in my apartment. My home is closer to her place of work, and for economic reasons and convenience, it's better if she stays with me and enjoys the benefits of having her workplace close by and to equally save some costs.

She moved in with me about last weekend, and I noticed that she has been wearing an old bonnet cap, which she has used for years. The cap is actually due for the trash bin, but I wouldn't trash it yet until I make a prettier one to replace what we have.

Luckily for me, I found some pieces of leftover fabric perfect enough for this purpose.

Next I cut out a flair of it first

Search for other pieces from my stash to cut for the inner lining but I didn't find a matching color
Hence I decided to introduce another color into the piece, of course we can always be creative with colors.

Look at all this colors, I just had to pick the closest one and hope that it matches with what I was making. Then I started stitching the seam lines.

I got confused on how to make it a reversible bonnet, one she can wear both inside out and then the YouTube is often helpful with these things.

I caught the idea there and continued work, then I got an elastic band and inserted it in between, and our bonnet cap is ready.

She was so surprised and happy to have received a gift from me upon moving in and something that is new and would be useful for a good while, but first of all I had to model it before passing it over to her.

It's the least I can do, and I hope that we continue to assist each other and show each other kindness.
