Diy Flair Skirt from Recycle Fabrics

Hello Hive

Today I made a recycle work turning a pant into this lovely circle skirt. The fabric is a frail fabric and the edge keeps breaking when I have used it to sew a pant earlier here. The crotch area of the pant became to frail that I couldn't fix in a flap or zipper. Hence this lovely apple print fabric pattern became useless and has remained in my stack of clothes for a long time.

Once in a while I look into my luggages, unstacking and putting away all the unuseful fabrics scraps, I found this and thought about what to do with it.

Since I have earlier sewn a pant with this, the fabric is to frail to stay fitted as a pant hence a free skirt might not disturb it's nature or have it frail out in any way if the hem is secured too or a a dress might work for this too .

I thought about an interesting off shoulder pattern dress where I will use this plain fabric to sew the top of the dress and mix it with the apple pattern fabric underneath .

After going through the stress to cut draft the pattern on paper here.

I went ahead to cut the plain fabric for the upper bodice of the dress.
But unfortunately for me I forgot to add extra allowances for the seam of the blouse and sewing this means that the dress will not be wearable as the size becomes smaller from a reduced measurements.

I was sad and mad at myself for making such terrible mistake. By now I have mastered a bit of sewing to have forgotten that and it could actually just mean that I wasn't paying close attention .

With this upper pieces now damaged, there is no way I can make make a dress hence I settled down to sew a skirt which I can wear with a black top to match.

So I went ahead to have cut out the pant in pieces and joined it to make it a single plain square shaped which I will be using to cut a flair of my size. By this time I made sure to weave and secure the seams and all the joinings.

This way I won't have it frail or get turn out at any point.

Here I have folded the fabric in 4 cut a flair with my waist measurement and the length I desire.

After that it was time to stitch in the waist band

After that the fabric was rescued.
The skirt might not serve for a very long time

Wow! The skirt looks beautiful, I love the design on it. You shouldn't be mad at yourself for making such mistakes, you know mistakes are bound to happen no matter how smart and intelligent we think we are. I love the recycle.

I love the apple print and the type of skirt you made. It's perfect for a country outfit with a huge hat with flowers 😊 Excellent work 😉💚
