A shirt diy WIP... Learning how to cut and sew a shirt.
Hello Hive
It might surprise you to know that I haven't mastered how to sew a shirt perfectly well. π€ππ»πππ.
It isn't entirely my fault.
When I started out training at the fashion school, we didn't have any syllabus or list of different aspect to learn from, we just basically pick style and try to practice as seen, I learned how to sew busters and corsets well but now the simplest of design talking about a shirt looks entirely vague to me.
But this wouldn't be so hard after all I can make patterns the only challenging aspect is how to sew with perfect finishing.
I was gifted this fabric as well and even though I tried hard to manage it, it just didn't go round for the shirt I wanted to make.
I had to find my way around the pattern to man the fabric work so I added an extra plain black material to stand as the yoke.
This sits well for a shirt already, except for the armhole that is still oversized and I need to adjust that with a tape, I guess its time to fight hard on how to cut sew and attach the collar and collar stand.
Well these are some of the little things I have found challenging with sewing and more practice will make it more easy to do.
Its another beautiful Monday again and I hope we all started the day in good spirit and health of mind.

Awesome and creative, you did great with your work
When am i getting mine done?
Hello.
The fabric is very nice. I think you are doing great. The doubt will just have to pick it up a little and it will be just right.
You learn by doing. You are very good at sewing. I took the plunge one day and sewed a blouse for myself, when I tried it on it was too tight. I'll keep trying later.
Very beautiful your work. I love the step by step.
