APS Tutorial a.k.a Let's Play A Pirate Saga

Discord based games are not new to us, Hiveans/Hivers. A Pirate Saga is the third Discord based game we have on Hive.

First game we, Hiveans, who migrated from the previous blockchain, played was dCity.

Second one is Serfdom & Sorcery. Though, it can be said the first one in the sense that it's initiated/started/developed on the Hive Blockchain.

And, now, A Pirate Saga is the third one.

I am not aware of any other Discord based games associated with Hive Blockchain, if there are then do share them in the comments.

I am playing all three of above mentioned games and, no doubt, they are addictive. This isn't the only quality they have, though.

If someone says to me for the comparison among them then it's like comparing Mango with Peanuts, Pizza with Spaghetti or French fries with Samosa - they all are the best in their own category/genre.

Follow the instructions given below.

Registration

• Join A Pirate Saga ^Discord

• Go to register channel under A Pirate Saga and follow these steps.
• Write !register.
• Provide your Hive ID.
• Select the class you want to play with by providing the number of the class, there are four classes numbered 1 to 4 (See the image below).
  ^{Soon, there'll be command that would allow you to change your class, this will cost you some tokens, though.}
• Reply confirm.
• Send 5 swap.hive from your Hive Engine account to deckhand with memo activate.
• After 5-10 minutes, reply !activate on register channel.

All done. You'll get 2500 LOOT tokens after the registration, worth 2.5 swap.hive.

Now, you are ready to play.

Commands for earning LOOT tokens

The commands that will earn you LOOT tokens are:

• !setsail
• !fightmonster or !takethehelm or !smugglerun or !findhealings
• !quest

!setsail

Run this command in #play-room-1 channel. You'll either get 5 LOOT or 10 LOOT or 50 LOOT tokens.

The normal cooldown for this command is 5 minutes. You could get a 30 minutes cooldown once a while, though.

So, in normal cases, you can run !setsail command every 5 minutes.

!fightmonster or !takethehelm or !smugglerun or !findhealings

These are the same commands for different classes.

• !fightmonster for Fighters
• !takethehelm for Navigators
• !smugglerun for Scavengers
• !findhealings for Healers

As you can see in the image above...

• !fightmonster (Fighter Class) and !findhealings (Healer Class) reward the players either with LOOT tokens or with Wood.
• !smugglerun (Scavenger Class) rewards players either with LOOT tokens or with Chest.
• !takethehelm (Navigator Class) rewards the players either with LOOT tokens or with Wood or with Chest.

You can run this command every 60 minutes.

!quest

This is a common command that can be run by all classes in #quest channel and earn you LOOT tokens.

In above image quest was ended in just two steps, most of the time it runs a little longer, giving you YES and NO options, choose wisely.

Cooldown for !quest command is 15 minutes.

Other Commands

!buychest

One thing that will accelerate your in-game progress and earning is buying and opening the chests.

HOW?
We'll come to it a bit later.

!buychest or !buychest 1 will buy you one chest.
!buychest 2 will buy you 2 chests.
!buychest 3 will buy you 3 chests, and so on...

One chest cost 500 LOOT tokens.
With 2500 LOOT tokens, you were given at the time of registration, you can buy 5 chests if you want to.

!openchest

Just like !buychest command, !openchest or !openchest 1 command open one chest for you.
!openchest 2 will open 2 chests.
!openchest 3 will open 3 chests.

Maximum 10 chests can be opened with a single command.

!repairship
As mentioned above, normal cooldown for !setsail is 5 minutes but, now and then, you can get a 30 minutes cooldown, and if you don't want to wait for 30 minutes then use this command. You can immediately use !setsail command after running !repairship.

!repairship costs you 25 LOOT tokens every time you run it.

!upgradeship & !barrelman commands
!upgradeship command is used to upgrade the ship for using !barrelman command.

!upgradeship requires 25 woods to work.
!upgradeship will further be upgraded in the near future which will require wood and steel and will give the ship new abilities in finding other materials et cetera.
To acquire steel you need to run !barrelman command.

Once you upgraded your ship, you can run !barrelman command.

You can run !barrelman command every 6 hours.

!stats
You can check your in game stats with this command.
It shows number of LOOT tokens your account has, your role, time remaining to call !setsail command, number of Chests, NFTs, Wood, Iron and your Pirate Experience.

This is the command that provides you with the list of all available commands.

Leaderboard

Leaderboard has its own perks.
Currently, A Pirate Saga is daily paying top 25 players on the Leaderboard with LOOT tokens to their Hive Engine wallet and have also started to give Chests to them (Rank 1: 3 chests - Rank 2 and 3: 2 chests daily - Rank 4 and 5: 1 Chest daily).

Leaderboard position is determined by how many NFTs a player has.

Owning NFTs not only gives a player a place in the Leaderboard but it also add LOOT tokens to !setsail and !fightmonster (or other commands of different classes) rewards.
5% additional rewards for every 10 NFTs a player holds to be exact.

For example, I have 90 NFTs and getting 7.25 LOOT, 14.5 LOOT and 72.5 LOOT tokens from !setsail command instead of getting 5, 10 and 50 LOOT tokens respectively.

Similarly, I am getting 45% additional LOOT tokens reward from !fightmonster command.
