Sandy Beach is an innner city park situated along the Elbow river in Calgary. It is down in a valley which gives it a bit of a neat isolated feel despite being in a somehwat central area of the city. A short walk from where I live it is one of my go to palces close by to visit. I took a Nikon 105mm macro to check out what the park had to offer and see if I could get some autumn leaves as it was late August at the time and they were just starting to turn. I was not disappoint as there were many colorful leaves and I was able to get some intersting details as well. I was also reward with a few insect encounters, I think the grasshopper was the trickiest of the bunch as they could be completly still and then be gone in an instant and good luck finding the little creature after he hops as the moment you do he is gone again.
