The annual Global Fest in Calgary takes place every August, and it features a fireworks show every other night. Generally, this features a different country every evening, as they try to put on the best display they can. It is held in Elston Park, which has a large pond. Spectators line a hil on one side of the water as the fireworks take place on the opposite side. This really creates a nice effect as you get a great view of the fireworks, gernally unimpeded no matter where you are, as well as the reflections on the water, which creates a neat symmetry with all the liens and patterns.
