Old memories brought back

Good Morning everyone and season greetings to everyone in the cycling world.

Earlier today on my way to school I saw a beautiful bike which is a carbon copy of the bike my father gifted me three years ago when I turned eighteen years and just graduated from secondary school with a good grade and I passed my joint admission and matriculation examination (JAMB), waiting for admission into the university.

It was a thing of joy to me and my family, I had just turned 18 years old, and my heart was filled with excitement and anticipation for the adventures that awaited me. Little did I know that my life was about to change forever, thanks to a special gift I received on my birthday.

I had always dreamt of owning a bicycle. On some occasions I would often watch the other kids in town zooming past me, their laughter echoing through the streets as they enjoyed the freedom and joy that came with riding on two wheels.

However, my family's financial situation had never allowed them to afford such a luxury for me because of the school fees of myself and my siblings. Now on my 18th birthday, my lovely parents surprised me with a shiny, red bicycle. With a shock, my eyes widened with disbelief as I stared at the beautiful two-wheeled wonder before me, It was a symbol of independence, a vehicle that would carry me to new places and grant me the freedom I had longed for.

I wasted no time in hopping onto my new baby (bicycle), feeling the wind brush against my face as I pedaled down the familiar streets of my town while feeling like a king. With each turn of the wheels, I felt a newfound sense of liberation and excitement.

With this bike, the world seemed to open up before me, inviting me to explore my hidden treasures. I rode to the nearby meadows, where the tall grasses danced in the breeze, and the sweet scent of wildflowers filled the air. I venture into the woods, where sunlight filtered through the leaves, creating a magical tapestry of shadows and light.

I can remember that the bicycle became my trusty companion, taking me on countless adventures and allowing me to discover the beauty of the world around me. But it wasn't just the physical exploration that made my bicycle so special. It also became a means for me to connect with others.

I would ride to the local park, where I join friendly games of basketball or soccer with my newfound friends. The bicycle became a conversation starter, a common ground that brought people together. As time went on, my bicycle became more than just a mode of transportation. It became a symbol of my growth and independence.

It taught me the value of hard work and perseverance, as I would spend hours fixing and maintaining it, ensuring that it was always in top shape. It also taught him the importance of cherishing the simple joys in life, like the feeling of the wind in my hair or the laughter shared with friends. Years passed, and my bicycle remained a cherished possession. It witnessed my journey from a young boy to a confident young man, ready to take on the world. It became a part of my identity, a reminder of the adventures I had embarked upon and the memories he had created.
