As my morning routine began this morning as usual, I started sweeping the compound as usual, there my eyes glanced at a vegetable plant beside the fence.
In West Africa particularly in Nigeria is called a hospital too far and Iyana ipaja is for Yorubas but its scientific name is jatropha tanjorensis.
Jatropha tanjorensis is a plant from the Euphorbiaceae family which is mostly cultivated in the rainforest region. The plant is beautiful in its greenish nature of leaves.
BENEFITS OF JATROPHA TO HUMANS.
This plant is traditionally blessed with all the parts of it being functional to the human body.
The seeds, leaves, and other parts are all medicinal.
The extract from the leaf can be used to cure diarrhea and dysentery.
The extract can be used to boost
blood levels and strengthen the lungs.
Some people used it as a supplement for blood toxicity.
The stems is not left out as herbs and most people use it as anemia to treat inner heat and cleanse the body.
Due to the medicinal contents of the plant, some homes use it as a spice when cooking food, some use it as a sauce as well.
Jatropha plants can also be used as a flower in most of our African homes, especially the Nigerian home, the plant is unique in its way of survival.
It has the capability of staying alive during the dry season.
It's can be cultivated through seeds or stems in most cases.
