What a 500 pesos can buy in the market challenge!
Hello hivers!!!
It is my late entry for the #marketfriday challenge of miss @dswigle coz I was having a poor signal internet connection yesterday.
For my yesterday's market friday ,I was doing the challenge on which I've seen in tiktok and you ,the 500 pesos challenge.
Anyway ,the value of per one dollar now is 54pesos and 500pesos is equavalent to $9.25 and let see if what I can buy on this amount.
Its my last money on my wallet and I needed to wait for the 30th day of January ,my husband's salary.
BCH is my savior during my petsa de peligro days but the generous tippers in read cash sadly bid good bye on that platform and its the reason of not hardly earn even $1 .
I am blessed that I able to joined in this platform coz it really helps me during our financial stuggle.
Last wednesday I was having my earpy market day which I usually did everu friday or saturday but those food I bought was not enough for us and I needed to buy some using the last money on my wallet.
This is my market day outfit anyway haha ,facemask is still a must for me as I am not wearing make-up even a lipstick and facemask helps me to cover my pale face looks haha. And ofcourse my market bag and umbrella plus cap.I am wearing a slippers as I am comfortable in it nad jeans for my lower clothes.(not seen in the picture😅)
I waited for almost 20minutes for my transportation going to the market.
And I will share to you the one of the beautiful spot in our place. The huge ricefield but I wasn't able to took a good photo as the tricycle I am riding rans fastly.
When I was in the market ,I went first to the wet market to buy some fish and bought I kilo.
Then I went next to the meat section and bought 1 slice of porkchop cut then next to tye vegetable section.
Then next to the dried fish section as my hubby always requested a salty vian like dried fish.I only bough 1/4kilo of dried fish ,3pieces og eggs and a cooking oil.
I did'nt buy some spieces for the fish and vegetaboe coz we still had in our house.
Lastly I went to a bakeshop ,bread is a must also for me haha. The money left from my 500pesos is only twenty pesos and used it to buy a bread.
And here's the list of what I bought using my 500pesos or $9.25
Fish-240pesos or $4.44
Pork-70pesos or $1.29
Mix veggies-50pesos or $0.92
Dried fish-50pesos or $0.92
Cooking oil-30pesos or $0.55
Salt-10pesos or $0.18
Egg-30pesos or $0.55
Bread-20pesos or $0.37
Total=P500 or$9.25
I brought and extra money worth $2 coz I need $1 for the fare.
And right after I got home I was busy preparing our lunch .A fried fish and vegetables for our lunch.

Fish, mixed vegetables, salt, and bread, all are important in our diet. It is cool you saw the challenge and tried out what you can buy for that amount of money at your place. It is much less I could buy it here for $9.25. Although we live by the sea, fresh fish ( and dried ones too) is expensive.
It was a fun challenge indeed.
I think inflation is high now anywhere in the world.
hirap na ibudget ng 500 sa panahon ngayon hehe pero u still manage it
That is a great post. You missed the post I did a while back: What can you buy for $10 in your country? It was a fun week and many participated.
Your post was good, but the only thing is it doesn't really tell me what you pay for anything if the prices have gone up or not.
You say mixed veggies, but is that a pound of them - a bag? You don't have to do that for everything you buy, just to give an idea of the price, so we can compare. I can tell you almost everything here has almost doubled in price! Thank you for joining!
I find it interesting to compare, not by the world's standards, but, by how we find the quality of our life with different indicators than the world does. It is not always about the wealth in money, sometimes money means very little when there is no value behind it. You cannot buy health although you can take care of what you have. Being educated isn't always about schooling, but acquiring knowledge and using it for the better good and happiness of the society you are living in. It is with great pleasure that I read through this and all of the posts, with these thoughts in mind.
Don't miss the small things in your life, they usually make no noise but can be indicators of bigger things. I enjoy learning more about you and hope you feel the same. I hope you are having an amazing week!
