Minimalist Socializing

Minimalism itself is a choice, can't be imposed on someone forcibly nor can we just adapt this on a fine morning after waking up. It is a lifestyle, formed with lots of habits and choices. As we keep choosing a lifestyle it does have some impacts on us as well. I, who is trying to be a minimalist, is always on the look to make my choices like that.

Socially, I am an introverted person, and my minimalistic choices help me to maintain that even more like I don't like mass gatherings, going wild at functions, or doing something that draws mass attention. But I am also very decent with my behaviors, formal and gentle, with no unnecessary fuss.

If I start with my outlook like dressings then I must say I have always preferred simply designed clothes that give premium vibes. For example, a black shirt, a grey colored plain pant, black shoes, black watch would be my preferred choice to wear rather than trying something fancy and unique. I choose to go with general rather than being so wild and unique that everyone keeps staring at me. Yeah, uniqueness is good but it's in the preferred fields where our talent and skills lie, like showing off a particular talent that will be appreciated for sure. So yeah, minimalism has taught me to avoid unnecessary attention even when I am dressing up.

Preferred places, as a minimalist, I have always preferred calm and open places. Even if the open place has some people those are adjustable as we can just walk away from some empty places. So whenever my friends would call for hangouts or meetups I would be like, “No restaurant, not that place, let's go there.” I mean, I will pick some places from my own, obviously, they also love my choices. Yeah, I do love restaurants as well but for some particular reasons, like when the food is our primary reason to meet then yeah. The above picture is also from one of my recent hangouts, it was the evening, and the lakeside breeze is one of my favorite things to feel. These man made city life makes me monotonous and places like these are an escape from them.

Being a minimalist, I have always preferred being calm and handling situations with patience rather than being mad. For this instinct, I have also chosen similar types of people rather than the opposite. And this particular choice helped me severely in my social life while mixing with people. You won't believe, this one helps greatly in an indirect way in our life in the long term. We all know that a person is known by the company he keeps and you can't just shine with the mad gang around you. Yeah, one or two mad man are needed but not most of them, and obviously, you don't wanna be the center of them.

So yeah, these were a few of my influences where minimalism had an impact on my social choices, and I am glad that they did.

I totally agree with what you said about clothes - it's tempting, particularly when young, to try and be flashy. Now I look at kids who stack seven different fabrics and styles and cringe. It's so easy to look good in minimalist attire (so yay for us :D ).

100%. Even if you're not that way yourself when you first start hanging out, we become what we see most often.

Being a kid is something that we all do want but impossible to get back once lost. No rules and regulations!

Thanks to you too for the appreciation.

Yes, I do agree that our choices have an impact on us. I like that you don't value attentions especially unnecessary ones. They don't always turn out well. Also, being in a calmer place away from the busy city is something I appreciate as well.
