From There

Often we hear some people saying, "Where you stop, I will start running from there." and many more like this. Actually, they are in my native language and sound very nice, and the English ones don't give me the same vibe, so I am not adding the rest of the sayings. But yeah, there are really some people and incidents that would surely make you feel so, not every time, but they would definitely do that often.

Our parents often suffer with our understanding, and our generation gap creates lots of differences in our thoughts and way of looking at something. Especially if you belong to a conservative family, you will feel that more and more. I am telling you what I have experienced so far and seen around me. Many times it happened that what I was seeing as normal was not the same to them; they were making it complex from their perspective. They may not be wrong, but the differences are largely visible, and sometimes they do give me a really hard time.

To be honest, my family won't take my outings with female friends very comfortably. If there were given choices to pick so, they would have chosen the negative one for me not to go with them for sure, hehe. But they do allow it because they have to adapt to the changes, the current social life, and the mindsets of today’s generation. But yeah, within limits, and that's what they would be prioritizing more.

So let's get back to the beginning, something unique happened today, and from that experience, I am gonna write something now. Yeap, that was the agenda of this writing, but it keeps flowing once you start to dive deep.

I was into a problem; a misunderstanding with someone from my relative dragged me into a dispute. I was heading that way, and when my parents got to know, they tried to solve it, and upon my explanation, they just kept laughing. I was perplexed because I didn’t say anything worth laughing at, I was serious with the matter, and they were laughing at it. I got offended, and then they presented a different view on that matter; from their perspective and logic, it was way more convincing than mine, which would surely create a dispute. I had a deep conversation with them, and my mindset on that topic changed completely. I was able to see. And this worked like a charm; I was able to solve the problem without any clash. Instead, it sweetened our communication a little more than it was.

Hence it was proved that their run starts from where we get exhausted. No matter how much gap we share between our thoughts and point of view, we must respect theirs too.

Complex problems, but family will be there always so we need to respect them but also keep in our mind for our good mental health that they can't have any weight in our decisions!
