Coolness or Dumbness
Nowadays people want attention, too much attention towards them. Whether it's social media, friends gathering, or anywhere, most people want to have attention. They want to keep pace with things that are hot, popular, and trending. Do you have any attraction to these things? To be honest, I just hate these and I don't have any wish to gain mass attention.
These days, something very common among the youth is smoking. People are smoking as a fashion, some find it very cool to smoke. They act like a chain smoker as if the cigarette is their air to breathe. It is not but they act like this. Have you seen Peaky Blinders? Seen how Thomas Shelby smokes one after another through each and every scene? They act like him. Come on, what's the benefit you're getting?
There are some who are really addicted to this and other things as well. No way I am gonna defend or support their smoking habits. All I am saying is that they are out of control, with no way back, but you still can make the u-turn from your unnecessary coolness. I just hate this, completely hate this instinct in today's teenagers and the adults of my age. From this coolness, they try to level up the game, and slowly but steadily their coolness turns into a deadly addiction with no way back. By the time they do realize, the damage is done, no benefits of regretting after that.
I do have friends, but few are like that, addicted to this coolness thing. They would say, “I don't smoke normally, just when I am around you guys(smoker friends)” This “around” thing, makes him smoke more than an average chain smoker because he spends most of the day with friends, lol. No normal time is left to not smoke. I am not into this. Another friend was saying that the other boys at him, take him for granted, and judge him like a foolish guy just because he is a non-smoker. But in reality, he is like the big brother of devils, just not with these smoke and drugs kinda things.
Well, I just wanna say, don't be a fool, some things are not meant to be cool, but rather a way to downwards. Now if we think of our downfall as something to celebrate then what can I say? Best of luck, call me when you are stuck down there, don't tell me that I haven’t warned you before, this is exactly what I said to them, who cares?
I would not say that smoking is totally a bad thing but people need to know their limits. There are some people who behave very bad after they finish smoking which is not supposed to be. Also, some people smoke too much that they don’t even eat and all they do is smoking
Wait a minute, I have noticed that as well. Some smokers don't get the appetite to ear after smoking, they can pass the whole day just by smoking. No way this is a healthy practice.
I just see smoking (even vaping, and, for the good love of the card spirits, drinking alcoholics—
Pardon for that hot take... Anyway
I just see such habits to be, well, definitely not cool. But eh, what seriously am I? Just a step closer to being a NEET, even when I am actually in college. Like, dude, I'm asthmatic, get your smoke and yourself off me. Even if your vape smells like vanilla, might as well back off. But here I am, stuck with a classmate of mine doing it (and literally showed it on the movies we did for our school projects). One or two others vape. And alcohol, I better have myself to thank that I would miss their hangouts after school because I can't sacrifice that alone time for that kind of socializing (I did need both, though). If socializing had to involve a shot glass, no thanks. I'd rather be at home and play Yu-Gi-Oh!
Ah great, same here.
Well, I can sit with them and see them puffing, it doesn’t bother me much as they can't influence me in taking a puff, hahaha. I have seen others getting addicted just because the friends with whom he was hanging out were involved.
I just pray and hope that I don't lose this control over me. Same goes for you too. Best of luck!!
Hey, I'm sure you can manage too. May be a joke, but when you're raised on an Asian difficulty of strict, you know you'll be moving out if you do, so yeah. Threats are not that good for motivations, but may work, BAHAHAHAH.
