The Ship Of Civilization Is Stuck in Plastic

Hello everyone,

I think it's my first time that I am posting in creative Sunday. Art is more like a life for me and I always wanted to take admission in art related admission. Alas because of my parents I took admission in political science. Actually everyone around me told that art does not a good field with a broader scope and I should go for some social sciences. I know that they don't really know anything about art and the scope of art. At the end I just agreed to their suggestions and I took admission in that field in which I don't really have interest.

Still life is full of surprises and suspense is always there in life. So on the very first day of my University I found that there is an art competition which is waiting for me. I registered myself for this art competition.

The criteria for submission of art was that your art should be meaningful and it should related to poverty or climate change.

I used to do art for myself but it was the first time at I was doing something for a competition. I wanted to create some magic with my paint brushes.
I did a lot of brainstorming. I did so much thinking about what to draw and what not to draw?

I took some suggestion from my brother. At the end it decided that I will make a ship which is stuck in plastic. Actually the idea came from the Ship of Noah from where the whole civilization started. That's why I made a ship which represent the ship of Noah.

Moreover we also have seen so much plastic around us. The capital class and the elite class is just making philosophy about climate change. Actually everyone is just doing lip service about climate change and for environment. In reality no one is really concerned about environment. Everyone is contributing to make this environment more and more worse for the next generation.

Although everyone knows that throwing plastic is bad. Still everyone is throwing plastic. This is hypocrisy of this generation that our actions are not matching our thoughts.

I remember that when I was drawing this painting then my sister was not appreciating me because she was saying that you are making just an average painting. But I know that this painting is a meaningful painting among all other my paintings.

I am gonna presents painting in departmental exhibition. In that exhibition people from other departments and professors will come to see what all the students have made. If department will like our painting then they will reward the student and they will also hang this painting in the department.

I am not really concerned about reward but I just really want that whatever I am making I will get appreciation for it. An artist is just hungry for appreciation. Maybe some of you have read A Hunger Artistwhich is a short story by Franz Kafka. It's really a great story if you haven't yet raed it then you should read it.

By making this art I want to deliver a message that we are messing up our environment with so much plastic. We are not disturbing our fellows but we are also disturbing the aquatic environment. We are actually killing all those fishes who are living under the water. We are the main hurdle for many ships and for many living organisms.

It's high time to mend our ways. It's high time to make our actions sensible. The next time is for next generation and we should make this planet cleaner and greener place for the next generation.

Previously I used to make art of nights and days but this time I tried a different genre and I did so much effort in making this art are realistic one.

I truly believe that my art is hitting the psychology. It will actually hit the psychology of all those people who will be there in the exhibition.

The last thing for this art piece was to decide the title of it. The title was selected by my brother @tahastories1. He actually that the title should be The Ship Of Civilization Is Stuck in Plastic.
