Flowers are lovely and cheerful, especially after a long winter. It's nice to see them growing wild, by the roadside, or in gardens, and adding a few stems in a vase adds personality to a room.

This is the British Lavender, I suppose since it's growing in the yard here in the UK. Right flower lovers?
I was inspired to cut these stems after seeing this lavender post by @dswigle, where she mentions Lavender tea and markets.

I have no plans to drink these though, but I played around with some mobile shots before placing them in some water.
The petals/buds are so delicate, and I think if I had more, I would probably see about making some lavender oil. However, I think I'm getting ahead of myself with that thought, as there's just a small section of the garden with lavender.

Relaxing lavender, eh! So beautiful.

I particularly like the contrast of the softness against the stone wall here. I broke off a few buds and rubbed them together and it was so soothing.

Back in my early 20s my favourite aromatic flower/plant scent was the eucalyptus plant, but it's not prevalent here in the UK.

I always used to tie a bunch of eucalyptus over my shower head, for the energising effect it had when the steamy shower emitted the strong fragrance from the eucalyptus.
With the lavender, I find the scent to be more subtle and calming, not overpowering, but it provides a sense of tranquillity in the atmosphere.

Now, I still like the soothing and comforting benefits I feel from having a small vase by my desk. It helps to relax my mind and gives me a serene feeling that I like.

I mistakingly cut the stems too short for this particular vase, but I'll be sure to cut them longer next time.

I do love nature even when I'm indoors, as it gives me energy and brightens my life. There's no need for extravagance or fancy ornaments really; as I'm more than content with the soft elegance of natural flowers. Not to mention how pleasing it was this morning when I entered the room. I immediately smelled the lovely lavender scent that had permeated throughout the night.

It has been a gloomy day; Overcast and rainy and the forecast says tomorrow will be the same.

The view of nature from where I'm sitting is nice, and something as simple as these fresh flowers with their natural aroma is keeping my mood balanced with a feeling of zen.

That's just a quick glimpse into my world, peeps, as I'm mellow with natural scents.

Do you have a favourite flower or plant scent that you like, and how strong is your lavender? I've heard some people say that they can smell their lavender when they go out in the garden. I haven't noticed that here, but perhaps it's because these have just sprung?

I can't wait to see how it changes over the coming months.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a lovely weekend:)

The eucalyptus over the shower head is pure genius my girl. Geez you’re brilliant you know? I’m so trying this out. I have a bunch of lavender growing on my pavement, but I seldom use it. That’s, obviously, about to change in light of your pretty aromatic display.

I used to get eucalyptus in Jamaica, back in the day. I would love to grow some here in the UK.
You cannot miss the cent once it's in the house:)

You're very welcome @jlinaresp 🤗
I'm really happy that they made you happy, and that you see beauty in flowers. I appreciate flowers more now than when I lived in the Caribbean and they were everywhere all year round.
Thanks for stopping by, and have a pleasant weekend:)))

Seems like in spite of the overcast day, you managed to find beauty and light in it, eh? <3 I've never seen lavender so up close. I find most flower buds to be so fragile and pretty, though with lavender, the smell's just too overpowering for me. I prefer eucalyptus too (Good luck finding it in Romania, though, I was lucky to find mint! :D ), and more citrusy scents, I guess. Gotta say, lavender's one hell of a beautiful flower, isn't it?

Hehe! The funniest thing is that I loved lavender in my 20s and 30s, and then in my 40s, the scent made me nauseous. I decided to give it a go again, and I'm liking the scent again. Although! There's always a BUT (haha), when I was cutting them, I discovered that the plant produces a foam (saliva-like, that looks like someone spat on the stems). I didn't take a photo, because I didn't want to ruin my lavender's fondness forever 😅
That is their natural moisture, as they can survive in harsh dry weather conditions.
I'll have to see how I feel about the scent in a few years. Eucalyptus though, wow! I love that.
Yes, I can't deny the lavender's beauty though:)))

Lavender and camomile tea is very good to help with sleep, I used to drink it quite a lot some years ago when I was working. Now I want a big lavender plant in my garden.... One day

I didn't know that you could drink lavender till yesterday. I've always used it externally for relaxation, but I'm intrigued and want to try the tea so badly. You'll get your plant one day:)))

For some unknown reasons, I love flowers and plants in general with the purple colour. They have a different shine to them. I haven't seen a lavender plant before but I've come across the oil a few times. If the plant smells anything like the oil, then your room must be filled with a lovely scent.

I'm not really into flowers because we don't have a lot of them around but one flower that I love for it's scent is the 'queen of the night' flower. It smells magical.

Wow! I had to look up Queen of the Night; They are absolutely beautiful, and you've made me curious about the smell. Seeing them, makes me think just how amazing nature is. Yeah, I've been using lavender oil and scents for potpourri for years, but I only just realised yesterday that lavender tea is a thing:)))

As the name implies, queen of the night smell best and stronger at night. If you have them around then your night rest would be splendid 😅.

but I only just realised yesterday that lavender tea is a thing:)))

I just discovered this too, from you. We learn everyday:)

I plan to look up that flower further to see if it has other names. Maybe it's indigenous to Africa? I'm not sure:)

Lavender is my favorite flower fragrance. Love it. There are many varieties so I'm not sure which one I prefer. The eucalyptus in the shower sounds very nice. I'd like to try that, but it doesn't grow here either.

Aha! Now you're onto something. That makes a lot of sense.
It's like Basil. So many different varieties - some stronger than others. I'll have to pay attention because sometimes I get nauseated when I smell lavender, so it would be good for me to note which variety does that.👍

...But it doesn't grow here.

Really! I honestly thought eucalyptus was from Canada, but today I read that it's native to Australia. That was a surprise for me. I would love to grow that someday:)))

😏... But these British ones seem ok, so now I'll have to see if it's the French ones that make me feel that way.

Oh, yes! The house has pockets of lavender here and there, but especially in the bedrooms. It really does have a calming effect. Having it in the house makes you want to continue that cycle, doesn't it?

I was picking the English Lavender in the last week, but, tomorrow, I will be picking the French.

Your pictures are so very lovely, the buds were dramatic with the subtle background, giving it a showy display. You have such a great eye for beauty.

Thank you for sharing a little snippet of you!

I never had real lavender flower in my room, but I did try buying lavender-scented sticks for my room. They said it would help me sleep well..and I guess it worked...
But I would love to have real lavender flowers in my room in our house.. We have a lot of indoor plants too..I'm lucky to have parents who love nature. They made the house surrounded by nature..

Lavender... they use it to "clear" spaces energetically, you know:)

I also used to cut it and leave it in bowls with slices of lemon around my house...

I think it's a perfect weekend for more calm 😌

Good idea! ❤️
