Back (because I) Care
"When my former boss messaged to find out where in the world I was and asked if I could attend the 20th Anniversary Celebration of the Chiropractic Clinic where I used to work, I quickly put some planning into action."
It's a small family business, with a policy based on trust, integrity, and transparency; Principles which are valuable to me. Having benefitted from chiropractic care throughout my life, working as a chiropractic assistant was a job I was proud of, and along with the chiropractors, I took much diligence in educating patients about aftercare, maintenance, and preventative measures to avoid injuries.
Building and nurturing genuine friendships is vital. So, even though it has been over 10 years since I left the company, supporting and offering my assistance was not only a priority but an absolute pleasure for me.
I remember the genuine, warm welcome I received when I first entered the clinic for my initial interview, and I quickly recognised that the company valued work ethics, and offered tailormade care to patients instead of providing customers with "one fit-all packages" of booking many treatments, without educating them on the proper healing process that occurs from regular appointments and exercises recommended by the chiropractor. The kindness and caring nature of the team gave me a feeling of belonging, which was naturally extended to patients who attended the clinic initially to relieve pain and grew to become family through the maintenance and aftercare education that is given.
It was not only a celebration of the number of years, but also a celebration of having survived and continual growth even after a long closure during the pandemic.
I had that nostalgic feeling being back in the clinic after so many years, interacting and socialising with old patients, and other relations. It was like I had never left, and my former bosses are baffled as to how I remembered the names, faces, and past scenarios of customers. On the other hand, customers were happy to see me, even though some only recognised me from my accent.
My multi-role was decorating and setting up the area, manning the coffee station, and I was tasked to be the official photographer. For the first time, I did mobile photography, something that's a little out of my comfort zone. However, the photos turned out pretty well.
It wasn't all work though, you know?
All work and no play makes...
So, yes, I took a swing, of course, knowing that if I fell out, I would be in the right hands of my chiropractor :)
Some Photos of the Day Captured by me.
Although it was an open day to celebrate 20 years of operation, with a turnout of approximately 70 guests, the occasion was all about appreciation and their dedication to creating equal opportunities and accepting differences.
Head chiropractor and his wife, the practice manager.
... And their lovely daughter, who I've known since she was 3 years old.
Dream Catchers Chasers
The family have been good to me, and they instil in me that nothing is impossible and that we can achieve whatever we want to, if we seek the requirements, and take diligent steps to achieve them.
They began as a young couple with big dreams, who have worked assiduously to achieve their goals and crack knock down barriers. What started as a small clinic in their front room, has expanded to a full-size clinic with multiple treatment rooms, and a sister branch in another city.
The company continues to offer intensive staff training for personal development, and they are actively involved in community outreach programmes for promoting good back and spinal health and proper manual handling.
I thank you for reading, and I hope that in one way or another, this has inspired you, the way this past and present involvement at this company has inspired me:)
Cheers,

Congratulations, your post has been added to Pinmapple! 🎉🥳🍍

Obviously, the owners of that clinic know what they are doing in terms of the business as such, but let's keep in mind that a health center cannot and should not be a seller of dry packages, concerned only with obtaining benefits from the clients as if they were objects that break, are fixed, go to the production line and come back broken to be fixed again until they will not give any more.
This is my judgment in a general way when reading your publication, in which you also enhance those human issues that characterize your former bosses.
Now, let's talk about it. It is very nice to see how your sense of belonging with that clinic even led you to change your plans to be able to attend and support. And I congratulate you because you have those qualities of remembering, of being grateful, of giving back.
In these times, every day we see how people are turning sour, they give more value to the material than to the spiritual, they are capable of going over anyone's head in order to achieve their purposes, which in total, will not consistently take them anywhere through these petty practices.
Your publication does inspire. It has made me think a lot.
Thank you! And I'm glad you had fun.

Hmm, I like that terminology.
Yes, they are amazing people, and I think the universe steered me into applying for that job that day. They have been my life through good times and bad times 😇
Thank you! You are right about that. What I love most about them too, is that they are givers, but from the heart. Not just for the sake of giving or wanting to seem kind.
I'm happy that you found inspiration in this because they are a real example of starting from nothing. Two young people from contrasting cultures came to the Uk to study and stayed and made a good life for themselves.
Thanks for stopping by with your thoughtful message:)))
You are welcome. I read a lot on Hive every day, and comment a lot too, sometimes perhaps more inspired than others. {joke} I'm always inspired by good posts.
That's really kind of you.
Thank you 😊🙏

Chiropractic is excellent therapy, my mom got good results, the best thing was the moment, everything looks delicious, I love the last picture, I can see that you are enjoying it.
I'm happy to hear that you've known how great the benefits of chiropractic care are, through your mom.
Yes, it was an enjoyable event.
Thanks for stopping by with your lovely comment:)))
This was absolutely amazing to read. For you to have been remembered to help out means that you left some really good impression on them. I first heard about chiropractors in TikTok and I know the level of work they do for people so it must have been such an amazing time.
The whole family looks absolutely gorgeous and I'm glad you had fun as well. And those treats... I'm salivating.😋
Yes, chiropractic care has many benefits, however, different regions approach chiropractic care differently. For example, British Chiropractors include muscle work in their treatment, whereas, American chiropractors only focus on manipulation, and will have patients go and have massages and other treatment on muscles and tissues separately.
I do hope that if you ever have chiropractic care, that it will be from a highly trained and qualified one. That's because there are some true horror stories about bogus practitioners... therefore, it's important to do a little research before seeing one:)))
Even though it has been over 10 years since you left your previous work, I know for sure that you are so missed because you have been an outstanding worker in the company. And I must say you are a blessing to them, dear Milly.
By the way, you look so cool and beautiful during the celebration. How I love the pink shades, the dream catchers, and the pink lipstick. Honestly, I am feeling hungry with all the delicious foods in there. Heheh.
Thanks for your sweet comment.😊
We have been a blessing in each other's lives throughout the years. There have been many sad and happy tears, and I count the lucky star that I met them.
It's a red sunglasses that I bought in the Philippines 😍
What a beautiful experience you have lived, dear friend @millycf1976, how gratifying it is to know that after so long, the owners of this company still remember you, and invite you to such an important celebration, you have done a great job building this relationship
beautiful photographs, I appreciate that you have shared this beautiful experience
have a beautiful afternoon
Thank you! It has been great coming back here, and I truly feel the love. The strangest thing is that I knew most of the patients that some of the current staff are not familiar with because I used to work both morning and evening shifts with all chiropractors.
Thanks for your lovely comment 😊
Aw these people sound awesome! It's good there are places like this in the world ~ there's something wonderful about finding someone whose values jive with yours, isn't it? Particularly in the workplace. Love those dream
catcherschasers <3Yes, it is, and I knew that the moment our eyes met, that she was my tribe, and her husband as well.
I'm surprised that I still have those earrings after 15 years, and they match nicely with my traditional Bedouin dress, which I bought recently in Eygpt. I'll make sure to save the earrings just for this dress 😆
That's awesome that you were invited after 10 years. That must have been quite the reunion.
Looks like a really fun event.
Risking the swing because your chiropractor is there in case anything bad happens is pretty funny
Yes, it is. I haven't done these social events in ages, but everything felt natural, so I'm happy that I made the effort to attend.
Haha! I have had many chiropractors, and it's not all of them whose hands I'd be happy to fall into 😂
Having a good employer is like winning a lottery, and one that still values you as an ex employee and friend 10 years later is even rarer. Sounds like the relationship and appreciation must be mutual and your performance must have left a big mark on them and their loyal customers that they are so happy to see you again.
Yes, it's a mutual appreciation, indeed, and it feels great to be back. This was my first and only permanent part-time job that I started when I first relocated to the UK, and I've always regarded it as one of my biggest blessings.
Yes, patients were really happy to see me, and it feels like it was just yesterday since I'd last seen them:)))
Thank you so much ackhoo and the @qurator team for your support:)))
They sound like special folks. They created a business with wonderful work ethics and it sounds like a great place to work. Looks like you went down the path of nostalgia and what a nice celebration. Your photography skills shone through. Looks like a great time with great people. The last photo tells it all.
Thank you 😊
You summed that up perfectly.
It's been great reuniting with them, and I'm so happy that I made the effort:)))
You look so happy amongst these people. It’s obvious that they found your dedication unique otherwise they wouldn’t invited you to the event after all the interceding years. ❤️💕☕️☕️
Thank you 😊
Yes, I think you're right about that, and I'm happy that I got to celebrate with them:)☕️🤗💕
What a moving experience 👏👏👏👏
You are an amazing woman, you have values and principles as a foundation, but most of all a genuine love for your previous work that makes you shine in the same place even though you have a decade without working in the clinic.
The fact that you were called denotes that even without being there for so long, you left so much of yourself there. Indelible footprints that will last forever ❤️❤️
The photos look great, so even if you step out of your comfort zone, you still accomplish feats because it is out of love and commitment that you do it.
I am very happy that you had this enriching experience in every way.
A big hug 💞💞💞💞
Thanks for your lovely and thoughtful comment @abisag, I appreciate it very much:)))
The found the perfect person to take care of the coffee 😂
How cool must it be to be reunited with people you used to work with a decade ago, especially if it was a good experience and relationship you had with them. It’s quite rare these days, especially if it’s work related and most people don’t part ways amicably.
That's so very true. I was lucky and friends became family. The boss friendship relationship was weird, but it worked very well because I respect positions and boundaries.
I thought of you as I was arriving Vicoria Station in London just now:)
An awesome celebration, I was inspiring reading through
Thank you.
I'm happy that you enjoyed this:)))
