Admiring Arctic terns over the Icelandic sky (Entry For Feathered Friends - SMaP 120)

This is my entry post for the contest Feathered Friends - Show Me A Photo Contest Round 120 ( #SMaP ). Thank you @nelinoeva for this pleasant opportunity.

How time flies, it's almost a year since my trip to Iceland. It was short and sweet, but as they say, everything has to come to an end before something new can start again.

While editing my photos, I found some of them where I managed to capture Arctic terns. The photos were taken near the city of Hofn along the coast, where we stopped to admire the local scenery.

My entry photo for #SMaP 120

To my surprise, Arctic terns appeared and flew around us, like they are demanding that I immortalise their flight in my lens.

I had read online that these birds are known mainly for their summer migration from the Arctic to Antarctica, where they enjoy the Antarctic summer. Their journey is approximately 40.000 kilometres long. What surprised me even more is that they can fly 9.000 kilometres without stopping 😮.

Thanks for reading,
feel free to leave a comment, I will be glad to reply to.
Best regards, @miljo76

Thank you very much for your beautiful entry with the Artic terns.
Yes, they are known for the long migration from one pole to the other. Amazing, isn't it?
Thank you again for entering the contest.
