Spectacular Butterflies!
It has been raining incessantly for the last couple of days and a yellow warning has been issued in the low areas of my district.
In the evening time, when the rain stopped, I went out to my garden to have a stroll. It was a pleasant experience today as I managed to shoot butterflies using my Smartphone.
Butterflies are cute creatures and very sophisticated in their design. For a photographer without a telescopic lens, it is very difficult to get close to a butterfly and capture it in your lens. But today I managed to get close to it and captured a few stunning shots. For that reason, I am feeling good.
I do not know which taxonomical group it belongs to or even the particular species, so I will not be able to give those details, I would expect you to enjoy it as photographic content in the first place.
Butterflies have a prominent role as pollinators in our ecosystem, particularly in gardens. We have grown a variety of vegetables and I think these cute butterflies will perform their role as pollinators, so they are most welcoming. Aesthetically they also beautify our garden.
In our state Odisha, Similipal is a Biosphere Reserve, and it hosts 136 species of butterflies. One day I will pay a visit to Similipal, as early as 2025.
Next year I am also planning to make my garden a Butterfly garden. I do not have much time now, But that is already on my to-do list. I will have to consult an expert for that for more insights.
Nature is so beautiful and the intricate details & the shape of Butterflies are a testament to it.
For a photographer, a butterfly is an ideal subject. But you need a good quality camera to capture stunning photos. Right now I am managing with a Smartphone, one day I will buy a good-quality camera with special gear.
