Reflecting on Trauma

Trauma refers to an experience that cause physical or emotional harm with a lasting effect on a person well being or lifestyle Trauma can be caused by natural disasters, accident or emotional problems. People take time to heal, But the truth is it shouldn’t be long before you heal. Some of us are not kind to ourselves because we think we are not worth what we have lost. The feeling of regret or having a spirit of repressiveness is a wrong mentality. Making a mistake makes us human, it is okay to make mistakes but we need to learn from the mistakes. Forgive yourself and forgive those who hurt us and don't hold this down for people, who might have hurt us. Our mind is our greatest asset, and that is why we need to abstain from it because anyone who attacks our mind attacks our life.

Healing is time, it does not happen immediately, treating the wound or darkness is what brings healing. We need to learn to overcome the darkness in our journey of healing. Understand it is never your fault, that those pain or darkness are happening. It is okay to be okay but it is not okay to not be okay.

Trauma is dangerous and almost influenced me negatively. I am a deep thinker and get hurt easily by people's speech and experiences. The relationship was the first experience that caused serious trauma to me. So many experiences have caused trauma from family, friends, and everyone around me, all of which caused wounds to me mentally and emotionally. Although I i know am not perfect this is one that hurt me deeply, a pain I went through. I remember being depressed and almost attempting to kill myself, but my Purpose and goals presided over my pain.

How to overcome trauma

  • Self love; Self love is one key way to overcoming depression or mental trauma. Love yourself, and accepting you are never perfect. Self-love builds good self-esteem and courage on one’s self. If we don’t learn to love ourselves then healing can be influenced which may lead to depression or anxiety.

  • Self-acceptance; Accepting that I am not perfect. Accepting every mistake we make. Do not feel or think that the mistake that caused the trauma was your fault, but accept the mistake because this is what makes us human.

  • Build a new relationship; This is vital to healing from trauma. Making new friends.

  • self-growth: Develop and grow either personally or mentally from anything that may have caused trauma to you. Self-growth can also be characterized by getting new skills for personal growth and development.

  • Understand your value; Everyone has their value. A good value breeds a good virtue.

  • Heal From Your Past; Accepting it is never your fault that this problem happened. If we keep having persistent problems

How I overcame Trauma

  • reflecting on my pain.
  • Forgiveness.
  • Understand nobody is perfect.
  • Seeking guidance from friends.
  • Personal growth.
  • Holding unto God's Words.

I would love to share a lot of personal experiences that caused trauma to me, but I wouldn’t want to put pain in people's sympathy in people's minds. Pain is what makes us human but healing is a journey that we must accept and adapt to.

The recommendation to improve as a person and achieve goals seems to us a praiseworthy activity, always with the purpose of growing and improving our present. Some people make the mistake of clinging to that as the only counterpart of what they have lived.
