Reflecting on self-affirmation: the key to charity.

Understanding one’s self is one of the basic principles of life. Everything we do or say is inspired by our thoughts or the influence of things or people around us. Self-affirmation means understanding the balance of his/ her self life. Charity is a positive desire to help people in need or the less privileged.

I see charity as not just a random positive influence but a consistent thing we must set ourselves aside to do. Although charity is a voluntary state of mind, everyone doesn't need to engage in it, it is simply an act of giving generously, help, and support to the needy.

Self-affirmation is the beginning of charity. Before we can start rendering support or assistance to people around us, we need to first affirm in our hearts what we truly want or we can also train our thoughts to accept charity. Most religions encourage charity. Like my religion, I am a Christian, and it is important we give support to people around us both financially and physically, growing up I was trained that this is one of the best supports we can ever give to people around us and to attract God's mercy.

This knowledge has been in my thoughts but the truth is can charity be possible by accepting who we are and what we want? There is a real difference between being asked to do something and willingly wanting to do it. I feel the first thing about charity is that charity begins at home we must first accept ourselves and appreciate people around us because we need to learn to deal with people's desires and needs that are close to us before we can give assistance or help others.

I understand this principle from my own life experiences. If we fail to value our affirmation and feelings to ourselves we will find it hard to give support to people which will include family and friends. Self-affirmation gives a clearer view of who we are, so when we say charity begins at home then we talking about self-affirmation first. I feel self-affirmation is the most powerful Mindtool of life. To love one’self breeds Charity.

When we say charity begins at home, we talk about getting a personal settlement and giving necessary support to people around us before assisting other people. I have seen a friend that his rich brother leaves him. Situations like this can cause traumatic experiences for the friend.

Self-affirmation makes a man understand his problem and people's problems by giving him a state of mind of being, affirming his importance and purpose to personal values.

One thing I love about my church is that, every month we organize giving to the needy and rendering every necessary support to people in need.

I will encourage everyone to be of greater positivity in good control conditions and give supportive values to both home and outside.

Positive affirmation increases ones self awareness and it also helps to see the world from a distinct perspective from others.
