Life magic and Death magic don't change people; they merely amplify what is already there! (A Venari Spellsmith summoner Splinterlands battle challenge /+ Gold card contest)

What is Splinterlands?

Splinterlands is a card game, similar with Hearthstone, where you can play battle against other players to get a better rank or in tournaments. It is a NFT game based on Hive Blockchain, with multiple ways to capitalise and make money, real money, by playing it or trading in it. You can start earning as soon as you buy a Spellbook ($10) getting DEC tokens and NFT monster cards via daily quests and season quests (every 2 weeks). The airdrop ended. You can still get some rewards staking all you SPS for a 33.90% APR right now. Holy Molly! I got one validator, and all the licences from the pre-sale were sold in 12 minutes. You can buy one in the Tranche 1, paying $3000 in SPS. You can get it much cheaper (around $800 less) if you buy 500 Vouchers and use them when you buy a licence. Another way to make profit is to rent cards, getting paid in DEC tokens for it. But, my, oh my, the renting price right now is so, so low. Check the contest at the end of this post!

We can buy still Chaos Legion packs with 4$, using just DEC, for a 45% discount right now (something like $2.10 per pack instead of $4). Even then, if you want to get the extra packs, you still need vouchers, but just for the bonus packs. An awesome hint from a really good player (not me), if you open your packs after the Legendary summoners are introduced, you have a small chance to get them from the packs. It was announced that Lands NFT and Riftwatchers pack are coming in the third quarter now, with the new Roadmap proposed by Splinterlands. Just check this awesome page about what are the Lands supposed to do.

Venari Spellsmith is one of my favourite cards, which I use on small mana cap battles combined with Slimeball and Life Sapper, for a cool 3 x Redemption, with a tank being all that you need on top of that, Windeku or Haunted Spirit, for the self-healing skill. A neutral Rare unit, the Venari Spellsmith is a good card to use for Little League and magic boosting Summoners combo, with 2 Magic Damage, 3 Speed and 4 Health for only 4 Mana cost.

So, for the challenge, this were the starting conditions:

Mana Limit: 20

Rulesets: Equalizer (all cards got the health of the biggest monster) and Heavy Hitters (all cards got Knock Out ability)

Teams:

Mine - Summoner: Owster Rottwell (Magic Reflect to all friends - a trap, as the opponent is using a full magic team), with Cursed Windeku as main tank with Heal and damage return using Thorns, Shadowy Presence to protect the back cards as off-tank, also increasing the Health by +1, Death Elemental to decrease magic power and killing the rear army with Snipe, Venari Spellsmith with cancelling boosts with Dispell and increasing Thorns damage with Amplify, Weirding Warrior as the second card with Amplify and some useless Armor Shatter, and last, Cursed Slimeball, to defend the back and do some damage upon dying with Redemption.

Opponent - Summoner: Obsidian boosting magic by +1, with Brownie as main tank, adding +1 Speed and +1 Damage with Inspire, Creeping Oooze with Slow, decreasing my Speed by -1, Screeching Vulture with Opportunity and Scavenger, Uraeus and Gobling Thief with Sneak, by-passing the tank and killing in the back of the army, and last, hidden in the shadows, Djinn Biljka, doing some Magic Damage and reducing my health by -1. A well rounded team, with decent boosts and curses.

Round 1 - My Slimeball dies first, activating Redemption and adding 1 damage to the few other attacks that were trying to chip in on the enemy's team.
Round 2 - My valiant soldiers managed to kill Brownie and the Ooze, recovering the Speed boost and reducing the opponent's Melee Damage.
Round 3 - Their Vulture died, despite the extra health provided by the Scavenger ability.
Round 4 - My Weirding Warrior died, assaulted by 2 enemies with Sneak skill.
Round 5 - His Uraeus died, mostly damaged by my tank's Thorns return damage.
Round 6 - The opponent finally managed to kill my main tank, losing his Goblin Thief in exchange. Only his Djinn Biljka is alive, no longer camouflaged.
Round 7 - His last card is destroyed. I won.

Star of the game - The main tank, Windeku, killing more monsters with damage return than the rest of the team. I wonder is Amplify is staking?

On the side note, my continuous support for Splintertalk.io is going well, with my SPT tokens number raising over 1.1 million. All of it is delegated to @monster-curator, as this account is doing a great work curating the best posts on the forum. I have finally reached the needed SPT power (110K at the moment) to manually curate on Splinterlalk.io. Also, i have finished working on acquiring 50K+ 1UP (55k 1UP now) next, inspired by the Cartel efforts. Bought 200K Level too, for PsiberX airdrop, as I also managed to round up 100 Hive to buy a piece of Land in their game. Got 4 PsyberX packs already on airdrop in the last 3 months, with one more to come in September. Happy to have them! On top of this, it will be a new soccer game made by the Splinterlands team, with quite some interesting mechanisms. Coming up in September-October with the first versions!
