Does money bring happiness? [EN/PT]

Have you ever heard that old phrase "Money doesn't bring happiness"? That's one of the dumbest things someone could say, or even a naive repetition by poor people who use this type of speech to justify the condition they live in without the burden of needing a better life or having a fat bank account. Money does bring happiness, and I can prove it.

First of all, I would like to make it clear that I'm not rich, but I aim to be. There's nothing wrong with trying to be rich, right? Here in Brazil, there's a certain repugnance towards rich people, and that's another thing I believe to be the height of stupidity. Who could be prejudiced against something they would like to be? That's purely and simply envy. Being a hardworking person, studying, and striving for your achievements is commendable. If you don't come from a wealthy family, be diligent so that your future generations may become so.

But getting back to the main point of this text, how can anyone say that money doesn't bring happiness? Would you be sad if you could provide the best education for your child? Have you ever seen a sad person traveling to Disney? If someone in your family is in need, you can help, because you have enough money to support the people you love. Who would be sad to give the best and have the best? How many incredible experiences can't be built if you have the financial means to do various things in your life? These are many questions for which you probably already have answers.

If they changed the phrase from "Money doesn't bring happiness" to "Money isn't everything," I would agree without thinking. Money does bring happiness, but it isn't everything. If they put in front of me a choice between a large amount of money and the other option being a united family and having robust health, I would choose the second option. There are things more important than money, there's no doubt about it, but we can't deny how important this fiduciary resource is.

The Bible says that money is the root of all evil, and I don't disagree with that. The evil that surrounds us has monetary ambition. Trafficking, robbery, kidnapping, and any other iniquities are directly or indirectly linked to money. But money isn't the villain, it's the people who are uncontrolled and greedy. Does sugar harm? Yes, if consumed in excess or if you already have a related problem. But it won't be an enemy if you know how to use it and it isn't the center of your world. Likewise, money should be used intelligently to only bring the best to your life. It's a tool to be used for well-being and evolution.

I'm not saying that you won't be happy if you're not rich; on the contrary, there are many sources of happiness. But it's undeniable that having good financial conditions is a solution to many problems that would cause unhappiness. Finally, if after all that I've said, you still think that money doesn't bring happiness, I have a suggestion for you: donate all your money to me and be happy!

Você já ouviu aquela velha frase "Dinheiro não traz felicidade"? Essa é uma das frases mais idiotas que alguém poderia dizer, ou mesmo uma repetição ingênua de pessoas pobres que usam esse tipo de fala para justificar a condição em que vivem sem o peso de precisar de uma vida melhor ou de ter uma conta bancária gorda. Dinheiro traz felicidade sim, e eu posso provar.

Antes de mais nada, eu gostaria de deixar claro que não sou rico, mas busco ser. Não há nada de errado em tentar ser rico, tem? Aqui no Brasil, existe uma certa repugnância por pessoas ricas, e isso é outra coisa que eu acredito ser o cúmulo da burrice. Quem poderia ter algum preconceito por algo que gostariam de ser? Isso é pura e simplesmente inveja. Ser uma pessoa que trabalha duro, que estuda e corre atrás das suas conquistas é louvável. Se você não vem de uma família rica, seja esforçado para que suas futuras gerações venham a ser.

Mas voltando ao ponto principal deste texto, como alguém pode dizer que dinheiro não traz felicidade? Você seria triste se pudesse proporcionar a melhor educação para o seu filho? Já viu uma pessoa triste viajando para a Disney? Se alguém da sua família está passando por necessidade, você poderá ajudar, pois tem dinheiro suficiente para dar suporte às pessoas que você ama. Quem ficaria triste em dar o melhor e ter o melhor? Quantas experiências incríveis não podem ser construídas se você tem condições financeiras para fazer várias coisas na sua vida? São muitas perguntas para as quais você já deve ter respostas.

Se mudassem a frase de "Dinheiro não traz felicidade" para "Dinheiro não é tudo", eu concordaria sem pensar. Dinheiro traz felicidade sim, mas ele não é tudo. Se colocassem na minha frente uma escolha entre uma grande quantidade de dinheiro e a outra opção fosse uma família unida e ter saúde de ferro, eu ficaria com a segunda opção. Existem coisas mais importantes que o dinheiro, não há dúvidas, mas não podemos negar o quanto esse recurso fiduciário é importante.

A Bíblia diz que o dinheiro é a raiz de todo o mal, e eu não discordo disso. O mal que nos rodeia tem a ambição monetária. Tráfico, roubo, sequestro e quaisquer outras iniquidades estão ligadas diretamente ou indiretamente ao dinheiro. Mas o dinheiro não é esse vilão, são as pessoas, que são descontroladas e gananciosas. O açúcar faz mal? Sim, se consumido de forma exagerada ou se você já possuir algum problema relacionado a ele. Mas ele não será um inimigo se você souber como usá-lo e ele não for o centro do seu mundo. Da mesma forma, o dinheiro deve ser usado de forma inteligente para apenas trazer o melhor para a sua vida. É uma ferramenta a ser usada para o bem-estar e a evolução.

Não estou dizendo que você não será feliz se não for rico, pelo contrário, existem muitas fontes de felicidade. Mas é inegável que ter boas condições financeiras é uma solução para muitos problemas que causariam a infelicidade. Por fim, se depois de tudo isso que eu disse você ainda achar que o dinheiro não traz felicidade, eu tenho uma sugestão para você: doe todo o seu dinheiro para mim e seja feliz!
