A visit from nature! [EN/PT]

Nature is like the queen where we consider ourselves kings, but the final word will always be hers. While we build our cities of concrete and glass, she stays there, watching. Our artificial islands are not immune to nature; she will come and do as she pleases or, at least, send small representatives to visit us and remind us that perhaps we are doing things the wrong way or even occupying spaces that are shared and we don't even realize, many times.

What would these little visitors be? I believe you've already guessed what I'm trying to say. Insects.

They are everywhere. If you get annoyed by ants invading that half-eaten cookie package, try spending a few days in the middle of the woods, camping, or doing something like that. Actually, can we afford to say that we're bothered? Hey, this place belongs to them too! And I'll tell you more, they don't need any deed to prove that your house is their house too!

But well, beauty exists everywhere, and if you can't see it even in insects, maybe you're looking at it the wrong way. They have their own routines and tasks (who would say ants, famous for hard work). So, occasionally, insects show up here at my house, even though I live in the center of my city, an intense urban perimeter, and I've been trying to capture their visits.

It's interesting to observe some patterns. Usually, butterflies are very present in the morning and late afternoon around here, maybe because of the flowers my girlfriend and also my neighbor have. I can't say for sure, but this time must be great for butterflies to have a snack. And I can also mention that they love to make their cocoons around here. Where you least expect, there's one hanging upside down. This keeps us alert not to accidentally knock any down. We're always careful when we move something in the yard, not to disturb their metamorphosis!

So, this must also be one of the reasons why they are abundant around here. Of course, I always take some photos when I have a good opportunity!

This one, for example, seemed to have just come out of the cocoon. It was very gentle, silly as it could be. She was very lucky that no one stepped on her because she was on the stairs of my house, and perhaps even luckier that no bird found her either. I took her off the stairs and put her on a tree nearby, I hope she's better there.

But it's not only butterflies that show up around here, but also some creatures that you might find scary if you're not used to seeing them.

I made a timelapse last night of a kind of centipede that showed up here at home.

Since I was little, I'm used to seeing this insect, and where I used to live, in the countryside, we called it a "snake louse." This one is harmless, it doesn't have a sting, and maybe it's more afraid of you than you could be of it. When it feels threatened, it curls up around itself, looking like a snail. I'm not sure, but I think it likes to go out at night and also to humid places, because it's usually under these conditions that I always see it. Cute!

And of course, I couldn't help but talk about ants. I don't know of a place where they don't exist, there will always be some species living with us, always!

I started to observe some of them, it's cool to follow a bit of what they're doing. Ok, maybe I've been quite idle lately, but it's still cool to see the route they're taking or even, I imagine them finding something and returning to their colony and telling all their friends about a very delicious treat they just found. Well, imagination is free. lol

But then I found this worker ant walking free this morning.

It was cool to watch her and realize that she was quenching her thirst, twirling around, and when she noticed the paparazzi, she ran away like crazy. This video was also recorded in timelapse, so it's very fast for what was really happening!

I don't know where this little warrior ant is right now, but she managed to entertain me for a good while and made several poses for photos. I loved it!

Well, that was the account of a bit of nature visiting my home (living in it). I'm starting to really enjoy taking macro photos, this type of perspective is very interesting, and maybe I'll invest more time in doing this from now on. I'm not sure if my cell phone camera is the most suitable for this, but after some edits, it's getting good.

A natureza é como a rainha de onde nos consideramos reis, mas a última palavra sempre será dela. Enquanto construímos nossas cidades de concreto e vidro, ela fica ali, observando. Nossas ilhas artificiais não são imunes à natureza, ela vai vir e fazer o que quiser ou, ao menos, mandará pequenos representantes para nos visitar e nos lembrar que, talvez, estejamos fazendo as coisas da maneira errada ou mesmo ocupando espaços que são compartilhados e nem mesmo percebemos, por muitas vezes.

O que seriam esse pequenos visitantes? Eu creio que você já imaginou o que estou querendo dizer. Insetos.

Eles estão por toda a parte. Se você fica incomodado com formigas que invadem aquele pacote de biscoito que ficou pela metade, experimente passar alguns dias no meio do mato, acampando ou fazendo qualquer coisa do tipo. Na verdade, podemos nos dar ao luxo de dizer que somos incomodados? Ei, este lugar também pertence a eles! E digo mais, eles não precisam de alguma escritura para provar que sua casa, é a casa deles também!

Mas bem, a beleza existe em qualquer lugar e se você não consegue ver isso até mesmo nos insetos, talvez você esteja olhando de maneira errada. Eles possuem a sua própria rotina e afazeres (quem dirá as formigas, famosas pelo trabalho duro). Então, ocasionalmente, insetos aparecem aqui na minha casa, mesmo eu morando no centro da minha cidade, um perímetro urbano intenso, e tenho tentado capturar suas visitas.

É interessante observar alguns padrões. Geralmente, as borboletas estão muito presentes pela manha e fim de tarde por aqui, talvez seja pelas flores que minha namorada e também a minha vizinha possuem. Não sei dizer ao certo, mas esse horário deve ser ótimo para as borboletas fazerem um lanchinho. E posso mencionar também que elas adoram fazer seus casulos por aqui. Onde menos se espera, tem algum pendurado de cabeça para baixo. Isso nos deixam atentos a não derrubar nenhum por acidente. Ficamos sempre atentos quando vamos mexer em algo pelo quintal, não vamos atrapalhar sua metamorfose!

Então, esse também deve ser um dos motivos pelo qual elas são abundantes por aqui. Claro, eu sempre tiro algumas fotos quando tenho uma boa oportunidade!

Essa, por exemplo, parecia ter acabado de se soltar do casulo. Estava bem mansinha, bobinha que só. Ela deu muita sorte por ninguém pisa-la, pois estava na escada da minha casa e, talvez, mais sorte ainda por nenhum pássaro encontrá-la também. Eu a tirei da escada e a coloquei em uma árvore que tem bem aqui perto, espero que ela esteja melhor por lá.

Mas não são somente as borboletas que aparecem por aqui, mas também alguns bichos que você poderá achar assustador caso não esteja habituado a vê-los.

Fiz um timelapse ontem a noite de uma espécie de centopeia que apareceu aqui em casa.

Desde pequeno estou acostumado a ver esse inseto e lá onde morava, na roça, chamávamos de "piolho de cobra". Esse é inofensivo, não possui ferrão e talvez possua mais medo de você do que você poderia ter dele. Quando se sente ameaçado, enrola-se em volta de si mesmo, parecendo caracol. Não tenho certeza, mas acho que ele gosta de sair a noite e também de lugares úmidos, pois são geralmente nessa condições que sempre vejo ele. Bonitinho!

E claro, eu não poderia deixar de falar das formigas. Eu não sei de um lugar em que elas não existam, sempre terá algumas espécies morando com nós, sempre!

Eu comecei observar algumas, é legal acompanhar um pouco do que elas estão fazendo. Ok, talvez eu esteja bem atoa ultimamente, mas não deixa de ser legal ver o percurso que estão fazendo ou mesmo, fico imaginando elas achando algo e voltando para sua colônia e contando a novidade para todas as amigas de um doce bem delicioso que acabaram de encontrar. Bem, a imaginação é livre. lol

Mas então encontrei essa operária caminhando livre pela manhã de hoje.

Foi legal observá-la e perceber que ela estava matando a sede, rodopiando e quando percebeu o paparazzi, saiu correndo igual uma maluca. Esse vídeo também foi gravado em timelapse, então está bem rápido para o que estava realmente acontecendo!

Eu não sei onde essa pequena formiga-guerreira está nesse momento, mas ela conseguiu me entreter por um bom tempo e fez várias poses para fotos. Eu adorei!

Bem, esse foi o relato de um pouco da natureza visitando a minha casa (vivendo nela). Estou começando a gostar bastante de tirar fotos macros, é bem interessante esse tipo de perspectiva e, talvez, eu invista mais tempo fazendo isso daqui em diante. Não tenho certeza se a câmera do meu celular é a mais adequada para fazer isso, mas depois de algumas edições, está ficando bom.
