The cake mixer has a problem
Hello #hivemotors friends, this is my first meeting in this community, at my first meeting I will share a little story about my problematic cake maker.
I bought this mixer 5 years ago at a price of 800 thousand, for five years this mixer has never been serviced because there has never been any damage or problems at all, these few days this mixer has started to show signs of damage, where when the mixer is used the sound it is very rough and the vibrations that are produced are also very unnatural, because I feel that this is not a damage that must be repaired by an expert, I decided to fix it myself at home with makeshift tools.
Wow, after I opened it, it turned out that inside it can still be said to be good when compared to its 5 years of age and it has never been serviced at all, this is the first time this mixer has been disassembled. From this we can conclude that the mixer of this brand is good, there are no signs of dirt from the outside that can get inside, here I see no signs of damage.
Before continuing to look for damage to this mixer, I removed the dynamo first because I wanted to clean the body so that it was clean and pleasing to the eye.
After removing all the components, I immediately cleaned the body of this mixer from the dirt and dust generated by the dynamo. I clean it by using water and coconut fiber, just like washing dishes.
After I washed the mixer body it was like new again, because there were no signs of dirt at all, from here I am sure that none of the mixer components were charred or badly damaged, because there were no signs of burnt body.
Back to the beginning, here we can see that the two gear balls are dry or there is no lubricating grease at all, I'm sure the vibrations and rough sound are slightly affected by these two gear balls.
After adding a little lubricating grease to the two gear balls, I checked the two bearings in the dynamo, because the rough sound and vibration were not completely due to the two dry ball gears. After I checked the two bearings, I found the main cause of the damage, where these two bearings had no lubrication at all, so when the mixer was turned on, the sound and vibration were really felt because these two bearings were dry. I can't give a picture of the dynamo bearing because it's invisible, there's only a small hole to put lubricating grease into it.
After fixing the shortcomings, I immediately installed the body that I had cleaned first. When I try!! Waaow my mixer is like new again, no excessive sound and vibration at all. Maybe you can emulate this if you have the same problem as my mixer, because if we take it to a repairman, we will definitely have to pay a fee even though the problem is not severe and it's also very easy to fix it. good luck, never be afraid to fail, because valuable knowledge comes from failure. Thank You!!
Knowledge is indeed power , you were able to fix it because you have the knowledge about how to fix it..
I didn't have the knowledge, but when I found out that my mixer was in trouble, I immediately looked up how to fix it on YouTube
Good job, looks you nailed, thanks for share with us
thank you for the good comment
