I've Always Been Proud Of Christmas. #Memoirmonday.

Christmas has always been a season in which I have always been proud of. I have always had this inner excitement about the season. When I was a child it was fun. Now that I am an adult I do not disregard it in any way. In fact, if there could be any factor which could make me not to enjoy the experience of it, I will feel bad about that. I used to think that it is all childhood flavorities to anticipate the fun and intricates of Christmas. But I have come to realize that it goes beyond the childhood fantasies. It is the joy and fun of a season which we have come to inherit.

Could I say that I can ignore Christmas celebrations? Could I say that I would not acquire items and things which would make the season exciting to me and my family? Would I avoid buying new clothes for myself and my family members to celebrate the season with? Could I possibly put Christmas by the side? Absolutely, no! So, Christmas is one of the things I'm most proud of in life.

Sometimes ago, we had this question from @ericvancewalton in the #memoirmonday initiative that we should write on the things that we are most proud of in life. When enjoying the fun of the Christmas season,I come to the realization that I am always proud of Christmas.

It was fun in our childhood and teenage days watching the traditional cultural displays from ekpo and other masquerade displays which was usually a part of Christmas and end of year festivals in my little clan of Offot.
During Christmas, there used to be many cultural festivals. We used to have the ekpo masquerade and other forms of masquerades. Some of the masquerades are not what women can see. Some of them are dreadful and deadly. We didn't know why Christmas was usually characterized by that. In all, every festival in the village during those Christmas and New Year festivals was interesting.

I am now a family man with a wife and kids. We had a good time as I celebrated with my family. I bought them some items which make children happy during Christmas. We cook a lot of food with the chicken I had been rearing in preparation for the festivals. On the New Year celebration, I had one of my friends visit us. He came with his family and spent time with us that day.
